    Thank you Mr. Elwyn for your videos. I have seen most of the aircraft videos shot by you. I greatly love Fighter Aircrafts and wish to see more videos from you.

    I love how the aircraft which have Stability Augmentation Systems (instead of full-authority fly-by-wire systems) can do post-stall tricks, like at 07:18.

      watching the flight controls react so quickly is amazing....

      auxpowerunit thought that was vectored thrust.

    • @auxpowerunit
      @auxpowerunit 7 років тому +9

      @Richard Levy - Actually, none of the production F-18s have vectored thrust. When I speak of post-stall flight, the aircraft is almost out of control, since there is turbulent flow over the wings. The only thing that saves it is the all-moving tails, high thrust, and skill of the pilot. Planes which have full-authority flight control systems (and no thrust vectoring), such as the F-16 and Eurofighter, never let the pilot get past stall conditions. Therefore, their airshows are a lot smoother and less exciting. I used to work in the group which designed flight control systems for the F-16. And I remember our bosses were freaking out in 1989 when Pugachev first did his Cobra maneuver. McDonnell Douglas was quickly able to get an F-18 simulator to do the Cobra. But the F-16 couldn't do it unless certain parts of the flight control system were bypassed.

    • @jonnekjonneksson
      @jonnekjonneksson 6 років тому

      Nope, F-18 is very well valued as a front line aircraft for US Navy since decades, there is the Blue Angels team that use it and celebrate it for many years and a lot more. Its a two engine fighter, kinda heavy and very (but not extremely) agile. It deserves the fame it has as a successful fighter but its surely not the best aircraft in the west.

    I think I synchronized both of your clips of this flight ? for reference 3:40 here matches 2:30 in the other AWSOME clip "Stunning F/A -18 Display Sion Airshow" from 21 Sept 2017. hmm partially ?

    At 7:20 it looks like it rolls left with right aileron applied, is that pilot input or some FCS "magic"?
