I don't usually watch many videos longer than thirty minutes, and that is why I haven't checked out your channel yet. Now I understand why they are so long. You pack in two hours' worth of information into a very short time. I will be watching more of your content on weekend mornings. They are just that good! Thanks for sharing!
Good to see you revisit Mt Davis, for whatever reason I always end up going back there as well, something special about that area. They really need to show your videos in school class rooms they are that good Skye. Keep it up, I said it before but your channel is the reason why I decided to go out and film so thanks!
Top notch video. I was out at the observation tower a few months ago. I was the only person around that morning. The sound of the wind blowing through it was pretty creepy until I realized what it was. From the parking lot it sounded like someone was in the woods playing music.
Lots of Sugar Camps out there in Somerset County. I've been there many times at Mt. Davis. My Mom & Dad met in Meyersdale. I have Super 8 film of my Grandparents and Dad climbing the look out tower on Mt. Davis and I've been up it many times since the 1970's.
Excellent video! It was nice revisiting the site with you, Sky. The additional time and effort you put into expanding this episode is certainly obvious. Enjoyed it very much. Your details and production work are excellent.
Nice video. Do you have any plans to go to the convention there later this month? I'll be going. I booked my room as soon as reservations went live so I could guarantee a room there.
Interesting history lessons on the Penns and the legends of the two missing children. Intriguing notes about the occurrence of frost and the boulders. Another great vid, Skye.
Great history lesson! If you're going to this high point and into more history, the Flight 93 National Memorial isn't too far away and has an amazing museum about 9/11.
According to listofjohnn a peak bagging site. An unamed point in PA may be a foot higher that the current offical highpoint (Mount Davis) this supposed new highpoint is about 3214 ft just 1 ft above Davis.
Here's to hoping a new highpoint is on the horizon! (There's been a long running dispute in my home state of Wisconsin that Pearson Hill, about a mile away from Timms Hill is actually taller)
I was wondering the other day - are there "highpointers" in Europe? Some countries, like Ireland and Denmark, aren't that difficult or challenging. But Spain? Switzerland? You'd need some serious mountaineering skills to take on those!
I've met some highpointers from the UK, the sport is a good compliment for their walking/ hiking. Not sure about the others but I'd like to believe so.

Thank you! That's a cool but eerie experience!

Great video!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent video Skye! So, when are you planning on going to Denali?
If all goes well, I'd like to do Denali at 50. (I'm 47 now) 50 at 50!
Every square feet of Pennsylvania looks to have lots of history.
It's pretty crazy how many historic sites are around where I live these days.

Thank you! I really appreciate the comment.
I was there in 2018. It's good to learn the history. Another nearby point of interest is Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water house.
It surprising just how much cool and interesting stuff is in that area.
Live a few short miles from Mt Davis

Actually will miss the Konvention there this year. We'll be on vacation in the Virgin Islands! Looking forward to bagging Crown Mountain!
@@RooftopsofAmerica Nice, have fun with that. Any thoughts of getting Bordeaux Mountain? That's the highpoint of the National Park.

I could have easily taken this thing well to two hours, there is so many things in that area.

What about a climb that requires great strength and skill...Britton Hill, Florida?
Funny thing, Britton Hill is my second most visited highpoint.
@@RooftopsofAmerica I'd love to visit there. It would be one of the few I can actually scale. LOL
