Laxasia, is such a great boss. It was the only time I really was hit with a "wait, this one is actually really awesome" while fighting her (though there are other great ones ofc)
Pretty sweet video dude, very throughput explanation to sustain your thoughts on each boss and respective rank. Also love the Narration! Thanks for the video!
I haven't got any problems with walker of illusions...she deals very little damage and when he goes for a grab with 0 hitbox or tracking she got half of her heath cut off immediately because of lingering animation after it. I'm surprised to see Manus this high because when I played this game first time I considered him very weak...I even was disappointed at first because I thought that he is last boss. But when I saw nameless puppet it all made sence to me. Though he is just a spammy fat guy with a hp bar of a tank... Laxasia is the perfect boss, I 100% agree with that.
This game is amazing! I like it better than most From Software games tbh. Maybe the only one I like better is Elden Ring, but I felt like the combat is more rewarding in Lies of P. It feels so good to perfect guard. Laxasia was also such an epic fight. It felt like I was fighting an anime villain with all her sick looking moves.
i think its soo interesting how everyone thinks and feels different about the bosses.. you said Victor is your favourite and for me for example I just didnt enjoyed Victor that much cause i found him very easy and not a big challenge.. My favourites are for example, Laxasia was cool with the first phase being more on the easy side when learning her attacks and parrys and the second phase had me down.. quick strikes and spamming there was no time for being greedy for hits which i am so i rlly had to chill and wait.. My number 1 boss is the King of Puppets. First phase was nice but second phase Romeo.... Goated
Even by your own metric your choices are quite odd. I think you enjoy Laxasia so much is because it actually challenges you after several runs as opposed to being, by your own definitions, "well designed". I disagree she has good reads; several of her attacks are visually difficult to distinguish. Classical example being the projectiles; most 3d games suffer from the fact that the distance from the camera to some particles flying your way is hard to tell. But also her flurry combinations are a complete crapshoot until you have seen them several times. Let's not fool ourselves by pretending the animation looks anywhere near natural/deducible. The zipping around attack is also very headache inducing (very fast camera spinning). In the first few attempts I tried the boss she also locked me into a corner effectively causing me to lose my camera (similar to what happened to you during the Bischop fight in this footage). As icing on the cake she also has two full phases, where just a single entry prior you state you prefer that not be the case. Laxasia seems designed more around multiple playthroughs than being reasonable for people first meeting her.
Laxasia isn't a great boss whatsoever she's a bullshit spammy boss that will take out all of your health bar just because it's not a fair fight whatsoever
Enjoying the fight even though you're frustrated, is when you know the devs did a good job.
