Good series. Made me cry Kratos is now surrounded by folks who admire and adore him. Not folks who surrounds him to kill him. He became the symbol of unity and peace between the realms of Ygdrassil.
That and he says it is a path. The path is of course all the end game stuff where you clean up the realms and rebuild. Then he will be worshiped for real afterwards. At this point nobody knows it was him who saved everyone, but will after we kill ask the extra bosses and finish off asgard for good. That's what the writer of the game says in an interview
To be fair if he wasn't a homocidial maniac with everyone he met he whould have more allies in Greece, Orkos, Athena prior to her corruption. Certainly characters like Hephaestus, Daedalus whould be way friendlier. Bloody hell even Zeus only moved against him in the second game when he was destroying one town after another
ah don't worry man, i felt the same thing as well. Especially when atreus hugged him. and when kratos saw the shrine after the life he has lived as a god killer and now a god saviour is just. Perfected story
The berserker fights and Gna fights are all great. The side quests in Svartalfheim, Vanaheim and Alfheim are all very important too. Vanaheim even has a massive optional area with a bunch of boss fights you can do. Also there is a small side quest with Sindri you can find. And without spoiling anything, go to Niflheim and explore. There's a cool surprise there.
Nah, most of the berserker fights are awful. Especially the triple fight feels like it was specifically designed with the purpose of not providing any enjoyment or satisfaction, just pure torture. All the rest of what you mentioned is cool though.
@@magicfibre I think only the triple and double berserker fights are bad, the others are pretty good for the most part, I think the Valks are better though.
@@edwardarroyo884 Lots of them had other issues, like being way too mobile or constantly summoning adds, so I personally didn't enjoy them much, but it's cool to know that other people did.
@@magicfibre The triple is bad. But I think the double is good because 1 will focus on you and the other will focus on Freya or Atreus then they keep switching.
Well Atreus said he wants to find other giants, so a religion with giants already established would fit the bill. That doesn't really say anything, because there are a lot of religions with giants, like Aztec or even Christianity. Sadly, I don't remember giants in egypt. But I could also just forgot it. Egyptian religion is even older than greece's I think, which makes it even less likely. But I would love it as well. Never loose hope.
@@user-001 They could do something similar to realm travel like the nine realms, but instead it's culture realm(?) like Norse, Greek, Egypt, etc. That way we can still see Kratos and Atreus in one game.
@@psychopath682 I don't think Santa Monica would want to make a game out of non-pagan religions since it'd cause major issues. Though I will say, as a Christian, the Bible does mention "giants". Nephilim was a term that was used to refer to the fallen angel and human hybrids in the times of Noah (which matches many mythologies with their origins being giants and their endings being a flood) but they then became a general term for tall, strong men of war (you could identify Goliath as a nephilim). If Santa Monica decides to explore ancient middle eastern pagan religion, I'd say they can fill in the gaps using the jotun as nephilim - and these nephilim don't have to be "gods", they could be somewhat like Valkyries in the new GoW trilogy.
That final emotional moment between Kratos and Atreus really hit different. I’m so used to irony-poisoned movies undercutting moments like that with comedy, as though they’re embarrassed to *feel*, and it’s such a small thing but i’m immensely glad they didn’t have Angrboða interrupt them with an awkward cough or whatever to lampshade the moment.
The berzerkers fights and gna would be fun for videos. Also do the Broks funeral side quest in a video. That's this game's equivalent to going home after completing the story in 2018.
Brok's funeral is such a good wrap up to the game, the respectful send off, mimir finally solving broks riddle embodying how everyone feels in their hearts at the time, the song, it's so good.
Man, one thing I would change from Thor's death is that I hoped in his final moments, he would use everything he has left and strike Odin with Mjolnir, giving us the advantage we need to finally bring Odin down. Thor just dying like that actually makes me both mad and sad, it could have been so much more.
Dude that would've been so cool. Like, if Thor died at the *end* of Odin's boss fight, did one last strike to bring him down. Imo he at least deserved that much.
Its so awesome to see how they changed their fates. The murals show Kratos dying in Atreus arms with him putting Kratos soul into the marble while Thor stands over them. Yet they convince Thor to join them in "being better" which is the point at which I think they truly break the prophecy and then it ends up with the All-Father dying in Atreus arms and putting his soul into the marble instead of his actual father. Thor and his family (Sif and Thrud) played a much bigger role in breaking the prophecy than people realize, and this is because Thor sees the similarity between Kratos and himself.
I remember seeing that mural at the end and realizing what was happening on it. Then just pausing the game and saying "oh."

I like to believe that the prophecy of Kratos dying did somewhat become true, for like 3 seconds, when he first fought Thor. But Thor revived him to continue fighting. Angrboda does say something among the lines of Prophecy has a way of becoming true, one way or another.
The last scene where kratos looks at the shrine always gets me because for me he has realized that he has gone from the God of war/destruction to a God of peace, and a chance for a different life
Plus Odin previously told him if he knew what it was like to have people worship and love you and pray to you. The shrine shows that he truly now does, hes a hero for bringing Odin down.
I think it's really interesting that when Atreus is whispering Odin's soul into the marble, they're in the position that Kratos and Atreus were in on the mural that predicted Kratos' death.
Destroyer made cultivator. From the OG God of War series where all he did was kill and destroy to now fighting for more than himself. Brings a goddamn tear to my eye.
Loved the series, and would be down to watch you do a "near 100% playthrough"(just the quests, side bosses and stuff, not really a lot of crow finding and collecting stuff. Also, you kept mentioning the thing where Brok and Sindri took measurements from Mimir. Check out the store, look for a "Project 9". Have fun :)

You should have stocked up. My favorite armor set in the game becomes available right before entering the temple. Also there is another set of credits after talking to the dwarves and doing their quest. Plus somethings of note happen in nifelheim and alfheim that I highly recommend.
its pretty wild that the final bit of emotion kratos showed at the end outweighs pretty much anything hes shown in the entire series save for the horror when he slaughtered his family. The final mural was in fact showing that he can become a god worthy of worship, something he never once thought possible prior with all that hes done, and a path he would never have been able to attempt to walk had Atreus not made the choices he did. ideally they will have dlc for this game that shows new threats in the way of rebuilding, and at the end after some years you've finally accomplished what the mural shows and it somehow leads into showing Atreus on his journey, setting the stage for a third game.
I've never had a chance to play these games but watching Myth play all of them from GoW 1 up through Ragnarok is like watching a tv show with characters you've known for years grow old and develope
Go to Neiflhiem. I don't see any of the top comments saying it, but hopefully you see this comment or another like it. If there's any quests you do in another video you absolutely must make a stop in Niflhiem where those rewards for killing Odin's ravens are. You don't need to do anything about the ravens or get them all or anything, that's just the location where the quest starts.

The only quests I’d ABSOLUTELY want to see are the berserker fights, the epilogue quest in muspelheim and a side quest you get from Lunda at a blacksmith shop
This was an amazing series Myth! I loved every episode
From what I hear, the side quests are better than many other game’s main quest’s. I think it would be cool to see at least one of them for an episode or 2
Thank you myth as always you make a playthrough a million times better
> You not meant to be fighting, look at you!
Meanwhile Odin casually yeets Mjolnir in Thrud's face with one hand.
I loved the I did this to save you then proceeds too yeet her whit mjolnir
You need to go to a quest you get from the dwarf woman for the true ending. Love the series and is definitely getting game of the year
U can do it Myth, i wanna see al side quests and see more of your emotions in the rest of the game, I enjoyed how you reacted to all that happend in the game, thats why we love you Myth, lets do more side quests. YEAHH❤️❤️❤️
Just watching myth play is so nice and calming like i fell asleep so many damn times thanks for everything man
Edit: Im fricking crying i just saw the ending seeing kratos almost cry there broke anything manly in me i just wanna see more THANKS FOR THE SERIES MYTH
Would watch one more ep with the beserker souls, the King beserker and Gna. Would be nice to wrap it up by finishing Sindri's side quest. Love your series man not a major long time fan but been on board since sekiro keep it up!
I am not wanting to spoil anything but there is 2 boss fights you need to do that make Melania look like a grunt
Awesome. Such an amazing end the to story. I waited to watch your playthrough and was not dissapointed man. Damn the mural at the end is probably what hit hardest 10/10
Now that I’m all caught up, this is truly incredible. From watching God of War 1 then transitioning to 2018 version to Ragnarock is such a wild ride.
The berserker king, gna and Brok's funeral.
I was so concerned for a good portion of the ending sequence because I thought it was some sort of illusion from Odin
Mythy there is a massive side quest to do in the deserts of alfheim but you need Atreus for it. They go save the creature that he heard from the beginning
I think the mural wasnt about Kratos it was about Odin. Atreus holds him in the same position.
bwt please do all side quests
Wow, thank you bro for a great series! I enjoyed every step of the path and was greedy awaiting every new episode. what a journey. Big Thanks again
HE WAS THE CHAMPION ALL ALONG
not atreus
suffered his whole life, to finally open his heart and save a whole other world after he destroeyd his own out of anger and grief.
I miss those "old man dancing training montage" 😂
like we had in the pokemon series
Loved your play through, myth! As for resolution with Sindri, head on over to Nidaviller beach and do the side quest there
true ending is broks funeral, in svartaflheim. And the gna boss is a must see
Good to see that you enjoyed the game till the end. Sad you did not do the side quest, I will recommend to do then now on your own at least. But make sure to do Brok side quest now for the real ending of the game.
