There is no one who can sing this song like Bobby Hatfield. He owns this song because his voice is so melodious, it’s like velvet, but also with soul and heart. His range is unbelievable and he’s a countertenor. This is the best life performance I have ever seen, not only this song, all the songs that Bobby sings aren’t masterpieces.

Whenever I see a couple reacting to this song, I always watch the woman. Because she is the one that's truly engaged and engrossed in the performance. I'm a man and I know that this song touches everybody, but it's easy to see that women feel it more deeply.

Awww....the late Bobby Hatfield what a voice! I was 15 yrs old when I watched him this beautiful song on the Andy Williams show in 1965. I will never forget his performance. I was so lucky as baby boomer to grow up listening to such beautiful music of the 60's and 70's. RIP Bobby! We miss you! 💖

Bobby sure seems to be singing TO you not at you. Such heartfelt delivery showcasing his talent. The audience was silent no doubt knowing this performance was being recorded and thank goodness it was preserved for us to enjoy nearly sixty years later. Outstanding Bobby Hatfield may you RIP knowing you left us a beautiful gift.

No falsetto with him, he ranged around 5 octaves. Amazing. Yes to his Summertime!

This song is so beautifully sung & you feel it to your core just as you reacted to it. Thee absolute best version of this song ever & it was rerecorded 25 yrs later by the incredible voice again of Bobby Hatfield/Righteous Brothers after it was played in the movie "Ghost". The Righteous Brothers have so many great songs together & solo also. Start off reacting to the duo in these TV show videos: You Lost That Loving Feeling, Soul and Inspiration, You'll Never Walk Alone.

bobby hatfield, one of the two righteous brothers is a rare counter-tenor, higher then a tenor lower then a soprano but excellent clarity in his high notes

The woman was really touched by the song she was unable to talk about it because the other guy talked over her You could see in her face and her eyes That the song touched her The lyrics meant something to her And the beauty at which they were delivered was wonderful to say the least No auto tune it wasn't even Invented back then Great singers did just that they sung

Best version hands down of this classic song. Absolutely loved the Righteous Brothers. Sadly we lost Bobby Hatfield about 20 years ago. He had a beautiful one of a kind voice. Home Free just did a great version of this song. And Austin Brown also did a very beautiful tribute of this song about a year ago.

It was actually written for a movie called Unchained(1955) about a man in prison hoping his wife will be waiting for him when he gets out. So many positive reactions reinforces the lack of romance and emotion in today's music. It is very physical versus sweet and romantic now.

Hard to believe from watching this bobbie threw up before these performances from stage fright. Sadly Bobby died from cocaine abuse but he always managed to pull himself together to perform for us
