Yes, you need to get rid of good portion of your plants... your yard is too much of a dense Jungle for them to hide, especially the central part of yard. Cant see or walk through. House is surrounded. Dont want anyone bit including Roderick or ming! 'No chance'

Hi Marissa and Dennis, you seeing and chasing the cobra was scary. You do not have to throw your plants away. I'm going to give you things to do and put around the area you see the snake. You can use mothballs, ammonia, garlic, onions, lime, chili's, basil, lavender, cedar wood or cedar chips, sawdust, white vinegar, lemongrass plants, marigold plants, lavender plants. Snakes do not like these smells. Also install a bird house it's a deterrent for snakes. Try these and let me know how it goes. Tracee Hayes

Thank goodness you got rain. Now you won't have to be out watering your plants. Talking about the cobra got me worked up for everyone's' safety. Maybe you can trap them in a cage somehow? Using a mouse for bait? We don't have cobra in Kansas just rattlesnakes and copperheads, which are dangerous enough. I would not like to meet a cobra. Please stay safe, be cautious and warn anyone coming to visit. I'm beginning to think Ming is a scaredy cat. Maybe there are some things you can do to train him to bring out the natural instincts that cats usually have to be a little more aggressive with mice, frogs and snakes? Stay safe!!!!

The snakes (Bitten) are there bcuz you have a rat problem, they are after the rats. But if its a king Cobra, it means you have other snakes species in the area, its all they eat, other snakes! Get rid of those rats and other snakes and the King Cobra will leave. Also, King Cobras are good climbers, they like to climb trees so if you have one look, they will be there or on your roof, make sure to close all doors and windows and get rid of those plants. Don't try to challenge one either, they are very fast and can strike a long distances with enough poison to kill an elephant.
