One of absolute greatest albums I ever bought I found in the cutout bin at Lovell's Records in Whittier, Ca. Must have been the early 80's and the record was The Jealous Kind by Delbert. Great uptempo tunes, tasty guitar solos, acoustic piano, Hammond B3 and of course those horn accents. This lp opened up a whole new genre of music to me and I loved it. The funny thing is I learned about Delbert from an interview in Guitar Player Magazine with his guitarist, the late Billy Sanford. Rock on Delbert....don't ever stop.
Delbert McClinton the best music ever I love his music listen to it everyday
Nice interview, thanks for posting it. Just saw Delbert last night at the Birchmere and he and his band put on a swingin' blues show! He still has it.
Thanks to you and Delbert for a good interview. We will always be fans of his music.
