  • Kintetsu’s sleek HINOTORI
    Kintetsu Railway runs a luxurious limited express service between Osaka-Namba Station and Kintetsu-Nagoya Station, a journey that takes around 2 hours with over 15 daily departures. If you’re not pushed for time, you can travel between these two urban centers at a more competitively priced alternative to the shinkansen. The HINOTORI (which means “phoenix” in Japanese) is designed in shades of red with the phoenix symbol and stops at six stations (maximum) on the journey: Osaka-Namba, Osaka-Uehommachi, Tsuruhashi, Yamato-Yagi, Tsu and Kintetsu-Nagoya.

    Great video! So if I don't opt to pay for limited express, can the Base ticket fare still take me to Nagoya using the local train?

      Hi! Thank you for watching my video and for giving such positive feedback! I really appreciate it! With regards to your query, I would say yes and no. Yes, because technically, you can still travel from Osaka to Nagoya using the local trains. This would involve transfers though, depending on where in Osaka you would be coming from. I also said no because if you are referring to the amount of the basic fare, which is currently 2,860 yen, then no, you might have to spend a bit more to travel from Osaka to Nagoya. You have an option to take the shinkansen too but this will come out more expensive. The Nozomi shinkansen for example costs about 6,500 yen while regular trains with transfers could cost around 3,500 yen. To check your train/bus options, you may want to download the Japan Transit App. You will see your options there, both direct and with transfers, as well as the prices and travel time.
      I hope I was able to answer your query. In case you haven't, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel for more useful travel videos. Thanks again! Enjoy your day! :)

      Hi Mishu! Thank you for watching my video! With regards to your query, yes, you can just choose any vacant locker for your luggage. You can also choose which type you want - the manual lock and key type, or the one where you can use your IC card to lock and unlock it.

    Hi can I ride this train using my kintetsu rail pass?

    • @wheretonext1190
      @wheretonext1190  Рік тому

      Hi Almer! Thank you for watching my video and for visiting my channel. With regards to your question, as far as I know, no, you cannot use the Kintetsu rail pass to ride the Hinotori Limited Express Train. The pass is not valid on limited express (tokkyu) trains. Pass holders using limited express trains will have to pay the limited express fee separately. The pass can only be used when riding local (futsu), rapid (kaisoku) and express (kyuko) trains.
      I hope I was able to answer your query. In case you haven't, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel for more useful travel videos. Thanks again and enjoy your trip! 😊

      Hi Chirag! Thank you for watching my video and for giving a positive feedback. I really appreciate it. With regards to your query, yes you are correct. Hello. Once we been online purchased for hinotori ltd express premium car which is 2830yen, do we have to purchase ticket again in ticket machine? So it will cost us around 5690yen? I'm confuse because you said that you been reserved seat by online but on that video you buy some ticket again in ticket machine. 😂

    • @wheretonext1190
      @wheretonext1190  18 днів тому

      Hi! Thank you for watching my video! With regards to your queries, yes, you need two tickets to ride the Premium Car of the Hinotori Luxury Express Train. The first ticket is called the Limited Express charge or the extra fee you pay for a reserved seat. The cost is 2,830 yen. You can purchase this at the ticket counter before you ride the train, or you can purchase this online if you want to choose and be assured of a seat.
      The second ticket is called the Basic Fare which costs 2,860 yen. You can purchase this at the ticket counter or through ticket machines at the station. The total of the 2 tickets is 5,690 yen.
      The basic fare is what you pay to ride trains (2,860 yen). The Limited Express charge is what you pay for a reserved seat in the train (2,830 yen). Since Hinotori is a limited express train, meaning all the seats in the train are reserved seats, you then need to pay both the basic fare and limited express charge.
      The basic fare is for non-reserved seats, if there were any. In this case, there are no non-reserved seats in Hinotori, so you need to purchase 2 tickets.
      I hope I was able to answer your queries. In case you haven't, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel for more useful travel videos. Thanks again for watching! :)

    Do you know if those seats can rotate 180 degrees when the train goes back the other way? Or do they only fill half the seats each direction?

    • @wheretonext1190
      @wheretonext1190  8 місяців тому

      Hi! Thank you for watching my video! With regards to your query, as far as I know, the trains use special track configurations that allow them to change directions. This way, the seats are always facing forward when they arrive at the platform. I have personally taken the Hinotori Train both ways, meaning Osaka to Nagoya and Nagoya to Osaka, and the seats are always facing forward.

      Hi Jem! Thank you for watching my video and for visiting my channel. With regards to your query, no, you dont have to present your ticket before boarding the Hinotori train. You just go directly to your reserved seat. The random ticket inspection happens while the train is running already. A staff of the railway company will go around and randomly check tickets.
      I hope I was able to address your concern and help you in my own small way. In case you havent, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel for more useful travel videos. Thanks again! Enjoy the rest of your day! 😊
