I AM REALLY SURPRISED ABOUT PEOPLE BEING SURPRISED HOW GREAT THE FALL WERE STILL ARE AND HOPEFULLY ALWAYS WILL BE... i mean, it's the fall, like, where were you the last 30 or so years and where you not listening to music...??? but yes, i asked myself similar questions already, like why do the songs never ever bore you, no matter how many times in how many decades you listen to them... i started to accept it as the ultimate gift in life, the perfect soundtrack. LONG LIVE M.E.S. talent does what he can, genius does what he wants.
That box-set is the only item I'll ever mention in my will. I'm just trying to figure out which grandchild deserves it. It's too good to give to one person and you can't split it up.
People ask me, what's your favourite Fall song? Or tell me what's theirs. You might as well ask me, what was your favourite breath? That one? Or that one? Whatever the line-up, whatever the groove, they're all so... effortless, like they were always there, like air. Shame it had to end.
all these instrumental lessons were available from Beefheart but that doesn't make The Fall any less excellent. MES didn't copy anybody except for maybe author P.K. Dick.
Safe as milk blew my mind at 10yo. Taken me till 58yp yo get the fall and cand can really hear the captain right through this. The guitars could come from abba zabba zoom.
+Kenneth Fiend not "that" emocore... the good one. we all hate todays so-called emocore, we were thinking mostly post-hardcore bands, Husker Du, Embrace, Rites of Spring, check this out! But to me nothing compares to The Fall.

All The Fall Peel Sessions are superb, but this is pretty much my favorite. Get the 6 disc set. You will be forever happy.

Karl being immense. Few Falls I didn't love. I really loved the Brixish Fall but. There was a suitable quota of Scanleys.

MES the only person who's ever covered Beef and didn't kill the song. Check out The Fall's version of Beatle Bones n' Smokin Stones, it's killer.
Fun. Stuff. With. An. Edge
Cruisers Creek Nowaaaahh
Liam Gallagher does that, too. Adds an "ah" sound to the last word of each line. "Sunshine-ah" Must be a Mancunian thing lol
