Tarantulas are mostly scared of someone they can't even look up to, because exotic is that tall to them. They got alot more to worry about than he is

Hey Exotic Lair!
I get to pick a pet I want, it has to be small. So I was going to pick a spooder, or a lizard. But, I live in Canada so the weather is a bit colder then where you probably live. So I was wondering if there’s a way for me to still look after these types of animals in a colder area.
Edge The Floofy Boi I suggest a lizard! I live in the states on the edge of canada and while i have had lizards myself, many of my friends have them that thrive around here
just make sure you have a heating pad/lamp depending on the set up and type of lizard

I suggest a leopard gekko; they're small, pretty easy to care for, friendly, and have many different colors. Plus they're really cute😊
Their terrarium needs to be between 25 and 35 °C at day, and 20 to 25 °C at night. You can keep it on temperature with a heat lamp. They also need an UV lamp at day which is just like the sun (this helps their digestion)
If you get a lizzard make sure it has a heating mat under the enclosure on one side of the enclosure with the proper lighting/heat lamp above with a basking rock and a hide and the other side also has the same lighting but no heating mat under neath with a basking rock and a hide. That way the lizard has a warm and cool side to help regulate its body temperature. Snake discover is a youtube channel that has a lot of good tips for beginners that coveres reptiles from snakes to fat tailed geckos and small reptilians so check them out for tips and they live on the northern USA with a similar climate to Canada. I'm a Canadian and my brother owned a bearded dragon that I helped take care of at times so I learned a few things
I live in Alaska and have never had a problem with keeping tarantulas. Just make sure to have a small thermometer in the enclosure and watch it and your house thermostat.
