Having read a few of the comments on here, a few words need to be said.
Not all journalists are doing forensic journalism, are into it, or have the resources to uncover crime, and that's no bad thing. Jad's political background academically and professionally is focused on politics and he is a natural in political commentary.
It also could be by choice, to focus on other facets of journalism. All of the journalists who have a horse in the race, with a clear focus on HA being 99% of the issue in our country, are not doing it either, just getting to non-forensic conclusions and playing a cheap political blame game.
Knowingly or unknowingly, these types of journalists or politicians are creating futile polarization with a blatant mis-diagnosis of the issue which extends back in time beyond HA's prominence, and shift the political narrative away from what factually, and without the need for any forensics, got us to the shit hole that we reside in today. Their polarization is akin to the worst we have seen from the 14/8 fiasco in the last 17 years. Only a fool does the same thing and expects different results.
Having said that, Moniqua's still misquoted his words and would be in the wrong in any respectable debate between two people disagreeing
Some people will still not accept that, will still strawman Jad, like butthurt juveniles when the world isn't perfectly set up in a way to constantly confirm their biases, never to burst their bubble or disrupt the sound of their comfy echo chambers, asking Jad "ma tetfalsaf w tsof 7ake" as if philosophy or a reasoned argument with solid premises that do not require forensics leading to a solid conclusion, are weak or untruthful.
All that is fine, that's their choice too and my opinion of them, acting childishly and irrationally, won't seem to be changing anytime soon. Both, on the macro or micro, whether jame3it el 7isar or jame3it el siyede camps, both narratives remain frail, don't amount to anything we could call an argument, and are increasingly, on both sides becoming fucking dangerous to be frank at this point in time. Whatever is left of the Lebanese human and national ressource is shattered, robbed and gravely disfigured. It has been going on for nearly 3 years now and is ongoing.
We, generally as lebanese, have mostly adopted the worst of the polemical style of debating politics, wether be it adopted from the western and highly stereotypical left/right debate or any other immature political discourse. If we don't bite the bitter but rational bullet, grow up and change today, there won't be a tomorrow worth growing for or into.

I agree with what you said, except for the part about left/right debate. Left and right aren’t stereotypical concepts and they mean something, even outside of the west. They have lost their meaning in Lebanon, and that is a problem, because everything is depoliticized in a way because of that, and it all becomes about either protecting your own sect and the side that it is aligned with, or rightfully rejecting that system without seeing that there are also other problems and without actually offering alternatives. What do we want?
@@ostsarahb7466 I do not disagree. Also I did not say left and right are inherently stereotypical concepts. There are definitely issues and answers to these issues we rightfully caracterize as leaning one side or the other of the spectrum. What I'm saying is that the "public debate in the West" has been made highly stereotypical, by the media individual/citizens etc. To know more about this point, refer to a study titled "The Moral Stereotypes of Liberals and Conservatives: Exaggeration of Differences across the Political Spectrum". Exaggerations sell, gets media clicks and ratings. But they do not solve any issue, and 14/8 in that sense are highly stereotypical movements that were never meant to resolve a single issue, only to fortify the sectarian leaders' hold on the country.
JG keeps accusing people, especially the opposition of corruption without any documents, now he needs a proof against those who threatened Lokman? Those who celebrated his death? Now he is all of a sudden à journalist who needs a proof against Hezbollah? Fake fake fake

N'importequoi. Il essaie de se sauver de la question en se montrant raisonable. Il dit que des gens accusent directement le Hezb avec 100% certitude et d'autres (plus raisonables selon lui) ne savent pas et disent que tout est possible, inclus l'alternative que Israel serait entrain d'assassiner ces personnes.
Mais ce n'est pas a correcte façon de voire les choses! Il peut tres bien dire "le plus probable c'est que ce soit Hezbollah", ou "on peut pas être 100% sur mais probablement c'est Hezbollah", et ce setait totalement raisonable. Par contre, lui il essaie de montrer que l'alternative "Israel les a assassiné" est tout aussi raisonable et probable que "Hezbollah les a assassiné", ce qui est evidemment totalement faux!!
Trois membres de Hezbollah sont accusés par le TSL d'avoir commis l'assassinat de Rafic el Hariri beyond reasonable doubt! Trois membres et non pas un. Après l'assassinat de Samer Hanna, Michel Aoun est allé dire "Qu'est-ce qu'il (Samer Hanna) faisait là-bas d'ailleurs?" pour défendre le Hezb. Pendant la tentative d'assassinat de Boutros Harb, les forces de securité ont arreté un membre de Hezbollah qui leur a admis qu'il était membre du Hezbollah. Et puis, combien est-ce probable qu'Israel ait essayé de tuer May Chidiac?!

obviously Jad Ghosn is trying to play it smart in order to be acceptable on both sides. well, that kind of behaviour deletes Lokman Slim, and any future lokman.... Jad's behaviour is not acceptable that's for sure, and any dead man's wife will see you as the traitor you are.

اذا قلنا انه لا يمكن ان نعرف من قتل لقمان سليم ومن قتل رفيق الحريري وسمير قصير وجورج حاوي وغيرهم عندها لا يمكن ايضا ان نعرف من قتل بشير جميل وكمال جنبلاط ورشيد كرامه ومن اغتال مهدي عامل وحسين مروه ومن ارتكب مجازر صبرا وشاتيلا و…و…و.. يمكن ان نتهم حزب الله او سوريا او القوات او اسراءيل او… هذا المنطق يوءدي الى نفي امكانية فهم التاريخ ويلغي احتمالات العمل السياسي. عندها ما معنى ان يمارس الانسان الصحافة اذا لم يكن هناك اسس تسمح بربط الاحداث بسياق تاريخي وما معنى ان يلتزم الانسان في السياسة اذا لم يكن بمقدوره ان يقرء معنى احداث دراماتيكية غيرت وجه لبنان ?
