Grand Finals videos should be at least 40-50 minutes in length. I am assuming the editors wanted to hide the outcome of the sets for a neat plot twist, but the search engine spoiled me on the set going to reset. With 40 minutes, you can make the assumption that each set went the full 5 game set. If it ends earlier, add some dead time to extend the video to prevent spoilers. Otherwise, congrats to Kola, that was a fun Grand Finals. I wasn't particularly convinced that it's a -2 match up (it looks 100x doable than Yoshi versus Aegis), but the offstage edgeguarding... yeah... that's pretty rough. Can't Roy counter Aegis's recovery?
Spoilers This tournament is all about school and then Kola is just like “FUCK SCHOOL I WONNNN” which is hilariously ironic By the way, this might me Roy’s best tournament run ever
We’ll see. Not sure a solo Roy can hold a long term top 10 placement. The meta is adapting quickly. Look at Shadic/Corrin. Already falling off from everyone adapting. Couldn’t stay anti-meta forever.
@MagwaGaming idk ... he has now beaten Shuton and Sparg0 back to back. Even in the one set Sparg0 won it was game 5. Two more consistently better players than Kola, two top ten played in the world ... in a supposedly winning match up both losing to Roy. Seems even to me.
@@LoadedKlip I see where you come from. Like Kola said himself. Hes not worried about Aegis, just Spargo’s Aegis in particular. Spargo kinda showed how bad the matchup could be, off stage and neutral wise. Reverse 3 stock without getting touched is crazy. I’d call it a -1 matchup for Roy thats just my opinion tho
i main both characters so hopefully im suited enough to evaluate this. cloud - roy is, like, +0.05 for cloud. it is so so even, but cloud has the slightly larger hitboxes, and crosslash which is really effective against roy because he relies a lot on his aerials, and crosslash is the perfect tool to beat them out. however, cloud does explode against roy when in disadvantage, making it closer to even. aegis i would say is a +1 matchup against roy. mythra has the speed with the sacrifice of a bit of hitbox size, yet pyra makes up for that. we saw it all set, sparg0 played like 85-90 percent mythra, he either bullied kola offstage or just went string for string combo for combo to get enough damage so he just needs to get a simple hit/kill confirm for pyra to kill. imo, roy finds it hard to approach cloud, but finds it even harder to outpace mythra
Hope you all enjoyed The Luminosity Invitational #2.
