- 1. *Cook the Spaghetti:*
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti and set aside.
2. *Prepare the Sauce:*
In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the thinly sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to let it burn. This typically takes around 2-3 minutes.
Add the red pepper flakes to the pan and sauté for another 30 seconds.
3. *Combine Pasta and Sauce:*
Add the drained spaghetti to the pan with the garlic and oil. Toss everything well to combine.
If the pasta seems too dry, gradually add some reserved pasta water until you achieve the desired consistency.
4. *Finishing Touches:*
Season the pasta with salt to taste.
Turn off the heat and stir in the chopped fresh parsley.
Optionally, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top before serving.
5. *Serve:*
Plate the pasta and garnish with additional parsley or pepper flakes, if desired.
