Today, if there is disagreement, it frequently turns to bullying & even physical retribution. There is suspicion now instead of friendship. This change didn't happen over night. The verocity & fact checking once a common decency WENT descending into the Murkiness, ALONG with that escalator going down, down, down in 2015. As a nation we still CAN choose the path back to civility, despite the bullies & snake oil peddlers. When we Stand by & let the bullies run the show we become THE BULLIED by juxtaposition! Good people we CAN, stand up for what is right! SAY NO, say "leave them alone" to the ones who would do anyone especially our officials harm for maintaining our rules & laws. Any vote for anyone other than the Democratic Party nominee is in effect a vote for tRUMP, as long as we're stuck with the undemocratic electoral college. If green party candidate Jill Stein wasn't on the ballot in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin in 2016, we wouldn't have been subjected to the disaster of tRump. I agree, but having lived in both rural and urban areas, I'm not sure if I get one little part of what you meant - but just to be clear, most people in little towns are absolutely not less likely to bully and attack, they are more likely to do so and it does not feel safe to let it be known that I do not approve of their Dictator loving ways. They are very intolerant of people unlike them, they like it that way. They are often horrible neighbors because they have never grown up and learned how to live and let live, to be tolerant of different religions, races, and lifestyles. I cannot wait to go back to the city bc they know how to just not give a crap what others do as long as it doesn't ACTUALLY affect them. And unlike the small town people, they understand that someone else's existence near them does not affect them.
