I really respect your efforts here, thank you for doing this. I know how hard it is to make such a video. I wish someone would have recorded a similar comparison and shown the sound waves produced by the stings or certain chords and then you can overlay the two sound waves and actually see the difference removing the subjectivity of bias and ears, headphones or computer speakers, etc. The sound you are hearing when you play through your home computer system and what I'm hearing listening through my home computer system will be totally different. But the sound wave -or better - the sound histogram can not lie. But ultimately I do value experienced users opinions... so if I hear several people say that in their experience the Elixir strings last months while the others last a few weeks, well, then I am forced to accept many independent reviews. I'm just saying it would not be too difficult to imagine a more scientific experiment... some sort of fixed setup of the recording equipment, some way to strum the strings with the same exact force to record the sound wave showing tonality and length of sustain after a string is plucked by the pick with x amount of force, displaying the comparison results in an overlayed soundwave histogram format where the EQ would display any retention or loss of tone of the strings over time.

    Excellent video and great performance!
I use Elixir Nanoweb 10-46 electric guitar strings and I really love the full rounded smooth they produce! They lasted me at least 3 months or even more and I never broke any of them! They work really well with any music style all around! I highly recommend it to every guitarist out there!🤘🏻🔥🎸

Well, they stopped making steel strings for bass, and I don't like nickel. And their gauges like 40-60-75-95 are not the one that I like.
As for guitar-still using them :)

Hi, I'm sorry I'm just a beginner. But are these the super light 9-42 ones? Those are the ones I'm looking forward to buy and I wonder if they will last long. Thanks!

      Yes, those are 9-42.
Well, you can hear how they sound 6 months later after about 250-300 playing hours. After that they still sound kind of good, you can still practice with them. I would change them before studio session. However they might break, it depends on your playing style or how hard you hit the strings. You can't go wrong with them. Or you might do just like I did-try differend brands of the strings and look for yourself what works for you. Fortunatelly they are not that expensive.

You have quite similiar results as mine. After one month standard strings were already long dead. Elixirs were dead after 3 months of playing. I kill standard strings in a week. With elixirs i enjoy the tone for 3 weeks, and then i still can play it not being totally disgusted, until winding on D string breaks somewhere on the neck ;) I also buy one Elixir set and one or even two HB sets, because i use to change GBA strings as these break often and there is almost no difference in the tone.

How long till the start rusting?

Well, I've never had this kind of experience. I have one guitar that has elixir strings for over 5 years and they still sound good, because I don't play that guitar at all. And they are not rusty, because they are protected with the coating. But elixir strings wear out if you play them constandly, ecpesially where they contact with frets or pick. These kind of damaged strings I prefer to change before gig or recording session, but I can practice them without feeling that they sound damaged. So, I've never seen rusty elixir strings. I've chaned them before they got rusty.
Well, I've experienced another thing with my student. He had sweaty fingers and his kind of sweat made any kind of strings rusty in a month, even coated Forte strings. Elixir did last longer at his guitar. I wanted to see, if they get rusty with his sweat, but he stopped taking lessons. At least elixir strings survived 3 months with his sweaty hands, and this is 3 times longer than averege strings.
