I'll give you some clarifications just from this chapter: The green light that illuminates Momonga every time he gets excited is a kind of "emotional inhibitor" that he obtained by becoming undead and that returns him to a calm state every time he is about to lose control. In the Yggdrasil game one could get a base if their Guild reached a certain size and they even allowed them to customize their defensive NPCs. There were all kinds, although the protagonist only mentions one in the novel that had the theme of cats. The protagonist's Guild was designed around the Dungeons & Dragons theme, which is the source of inspiration for almost all of Overlord. Naturally, since teleportation magic existed, the protagonist and his guild almost always appeared in specific places and didn't interact much with NPCs after designing them. That is why he does not remember very well which were the pre-programmed orders that controlled them. Albedo's creator was an obsessed gamer who loved Gap Moe, that is, the "contradiction of appearance and behavior". Albedo is designed to look like a goddess and even her name means whiteness, but in reality she must be someone quite evil and in the final line it was added that she "she is a nymphomaniac". Momonga modified this thankfully. In the world of the protagonist (a dystopian future) there are many laws for virtual reality. For example: At least 2 of the 5 senses must be blocked or reduced so that no one gets carried away and confuses fiction with reality, that's why Ainz is so surprised that Albedo has smell and body heat, because those are always the senses blocked in video games. Also, when he... touches her, he does it because in his country there are many public moral restrictions and one is not supposed to do anything perverted without an alert being given to the authorities. If he were to stay in a game, even if the admins don't want him out, the government would find out that he had done an out-of-bounds action and raise an alarm. In the Ygdrassil game, the account of the player who tried to go too far was deleted and his name was published on a kind of digital wall so that everyone knew. (Super strict!) Ainz is quite cautious and takes the scepter to the arena to test its magic, because if it doesn't work he can tell that the scepter isn't working right and the NPCs won't find out that he is defenseless. There are still 2 Floor Guardians that have not been shown. This is because they have somewhat dangerous characteristics and Ainz doesn't want to risk seeing them until he is sure of the NPCs' allegiance. The Great Tomb of Nazarick was originally a dungeon conquered by the Guild of Ainz Ooal Gown, who rebuilt it when they made it their base. It has a total of 10 floors and is full of traps that become more deadly as they descend, waiting for any invader off guard. The first 3 floors are Catacombs, where several dozen undead roamed in the dark and are protected by the vampire Shalltear. The fourth floor is an underground lake and It is protected by a Guardian named Gargantua, who has only been mentioned. The Fifth Floor is a wide area filled with numerous icebergs and It is protected by Cocytus. The sixth floor is a Jungle that is actually underground, but it doesn't look like it because one of the guild members went to great lengths to design a digital sky that was as realistic as possible. That's where the Amphitheater is, too, and the guardians are the dark elf twins. The seventh floor This floor is an area filled with crimson lava that flows like a river and looks like hell. That's why the demon Demiurge is the guardian The eighth floor is the most mysterious of all and we don't know much about it even in the novels. But we know that no invader of Yggdrassil ever managed to overcome it. It is protected by a guardian named Victim. The ninth floor is the place where the Guild members lived and interacted and has many different areas. One of them was the Round Table where they had their meetings. It was protected by the butler Sebastian and the Battle Maids. The tenth floor is the Throne Room where the Guild members would gather to face the invaders in the last battle, although this never happened because no one made it that far. OL is crazy addicting. I remember I put off the first 2 seasons as I was crazy busy and the second I had downtime, the wife and I binged it all in a weekend lol. This Anime is heavily based on D&D and i very much enjoyed looking up Character sheets from the Characters looking at their level, Alignment etc. Very cool!
So, so you guys asked how strong the guild was, and it doesn’t get said in the anime but basically as far as attack power goes they were in the middle but they were so strong defensively that 25000 players all raiding at once couldn’t successfully breach the base. I won’t say how far they got or why, but nevertheless it’s really impressive.
Really glad this won out. Yes, episode 1 is definitely out there, and things don't really "kick off" until episode 4. That said, this is absolutely a world builder, full of subplots within subplots, political intrigue, and all kinds of swapping between the POV and mindset of different characters at any time shenanigans. I like to think of overlord as "anime game of thrones." After really getting into your guys's take on Vinland saga, I'm actually really hyped up to see your commentary on this one.
Love world building focused shows. We're on episode 9 and it's obvious that it's a big world. Especially like the fact that we are discovering things with Ainz. Cool touch. -Brandon

non-spoiler infos, during the throne room scene, Momonga ordered not only Sebas but one of the maid as well to accompany him, and during the theatre scene Ainz actually used Fireball first instead of just summoning Primal Fire Elemental, and then back to the Throne room Ainz specifically said to exclude the 8th floor Guardian Victim, as well the 4th floor Guardian Gargantua for reasons I'll probably comment on a later episode.
Oooh, but there a re so many good ones... To be honest, season 2 gets REALLY good. And this episode and 13 were hype as hell. But Eminence in Shadow was so peak, it's a tough one. -Brandon

this grean light is because he is an undead who are immune to status effects in the new world emotions count as status effects so the green light meens his emotions are beeing surpressed
Hello guys. Demiurge is named after The Demiurge aka Satan in Mystic gnosticisum. The demiurge was last Celestial made from the tree of life by Gods wife. The egg refuaed to grow do to it being damaged. She took the egg to the sea of Kaos and it hached..but wrong. The demiurge killed his 6 other siblings and used there bodies and weapons to make the Archons. Demiurge does something similar in the show with his..."The Happy Farm".😂
sometimes you need details from manga or novel every episode. because the details was the reason why i love this anime. the uniqueness in every character and the POVs. Sasuga Ainz sama. not gonna blame if others find this anime boring.
when in teh start and in the game, the DMMO can only share touch, sight and hearing, tast and smell are excluded as it was beyon it tech at the time. also char could not move faces so they allow emojis. ya Guild Ainz ooal gown was a RP heavy guild they where inhumans and once tehy got the Guild building the great tomb they lend into RP "evil" finall boss as a guild lol. Also Momonga was a Item Hoarder he got ton of odd and ends things like water, glass, to high end gear stashed in his item box lol.
It's cool that the game allowed space for this kind of RP. Really advanced stuff. Hopefully we start getting this kind of stuff from all the AI innovation. -Brandon
@@BrothersYeo ya Yggdrasill in this world was very open ended game, 3 groups of races: humans, demi-humans and and Heteromorphic (non-human like smile or skelleton) alot of the non-human treated as 'mosnter' by the other 2 player groups so Ainz ooal gown was a group of 41 Heteromorphic members that went all in on playing a 'evil' guild. momonga is guild leader and for his RP he specialized in necromancy and death magics.
If I recall correctly, it was stated that allowing those senses in games was illegal. What was beyond their tech was full facial animations, especially for nonhumans
I must say for this anime, you might need the comments to help you explain some things because they will don’t explain to you about many things at times. I’m a person who usually tries to help explain things in the comments because If I not, many things will confusing to you guys if you don’t understand what’s going on.
