That Broncos forward pack is absolutely stacked, even more so than the Raiders. Webcke, Civinoceva, Tallis, Thorn, Carroll, Campion is about as hard and tough as it gets.
The only 2 grand finals I wish we would have got but never did 1994 Brisbane vs Canberra. (I believe Canberra win convincingly) 1998 Brisbane vs newcastle. (I believe Brisbane win convincingly.)
All those teams were Brilliant ..Noah would be on 500 sorry Joey ... The Rabs greats call ever ...... NO NO NO NOAH NO Nadruku in for the try !! Danny was great again the modern game the Dummy half the first play of the ball is always the most important ...I do like Joey and Freddy even as QLD'er. NSW were so Dominant in their halves parings for such a long time .. Daly Stuart Fittler Johns
Definitely you’ve got (in my opinion) NSW two best ever halves in the raiders side and QLDs best two ever halves in the broncos side (granted locky was fullback then)
they got annhilated the very next year. what do you mean by that? manly were decent in 07 and 08 to be sure but storm have been essentially a dominant side for 20 years. thats fallen off recently but still
@@godemperorofmankind3.091 they still made the 8 regardless they were getting better each year til they won a grandfinal in 2011 with the then up and coming halves in cherry evans and foran. It wasn't until 2015 til they fell off completely they wernt the same anymore
I've long found it an interesting piece of RL trivia that Luke Phillips kept Anthony Minichiello and Brett Mullins out of the number 1 jersey in a premiership winning team.
The Panthers team of 2021-22 is historically the best performed side of all time. Unfortunately, this has been brushed aside by mostly the Fox/DT mob, and the SMH whose pet side Parra got ass raped in last year's final.
Penrith have been outstanding over the past 3 years, credit to them. But hearing some opinions say they are the best team in the modern era raises a few suspicions because their closest rivals have been on a decline. Think back to those dominant dynasty teams of the 90's and 2000's and look at the quality of teams they were up against to actually win the premiership. Another way to put it would be to ask this question - would the 1994 Raiders, 1998 Broncos, 2007 Storm, 2008 Manly, 2018 Roosters and 2020 Storm teams beat the 2022 Paramatta Eels in a GF? In all fairness, those teams would've put at least 50 points on last year's Paramatta team who are fumbling around the bottom of the ladder this year and yet, they were the main challenger for Penrith last year? So historically, the best performed teams are the ones who win premierships in a golden age of strong competitions against teams stacked full of generational players. 2021 and 2022 were not those years.
@@ryukan250 Best perming team of that 3 years. The stats are that they are the best performing side since the 1962 Dragons. There was a record the Panthers broke from Souths 1908, when they won 16 only to be bettered by the Panthers by 1 win in 2020. And during the Dragons reign, they had tons of money from more poker machines than anyone else (do I hear 11 in a row?), and they managed to circumnavigate around having players who were not from their area, I.E. John Raper who was originally a Canterbury based player, went to Newtown then onto St George. Loosely like Easts who have been purging players from other clubs (IE Fittler, Jennings, Sing, Sualli, Teddy, etc). That was how corrupt the NSWRL were at the time and continued through till the NRL took over. What a cleanout that was. Granted though, Parra were awarded a try V Cows off a terrible forward pass. Wrong side made the big one last year. Cows have every right to be miffed.
North Sydney Bears 1996. Disappointing end to the season, but a very fast and skillful team. Probably the best Bears squad I ever watched play. What a great era of football!
How’s all the back rows Roosters Fletcher Fitzgibbon Ricketson Knights Simpson Kennedy Peden Broncos Thorn Tallis Carroll Raiders Croker Furner Clyde. That’s all an insane amount of talent in the back row. To go with the sickeningly legendary halves combos everywhere. Where you’d have to say the weakest halves pairing is John’s and rudder. Which John’s by himself makes it a great pairing.
Broncos during their inception contributed over half the Maroons squad. 2006-2009 Storm (i know about the salary cap thing). 2016-2021 Storm were pretty insane and near unstoppable. 01 Eels were pretty great.
Lmao youve missed the most important part of this topic "the best sides theyve played against and played in" no simply "the best sides ever", that would imply that all the contenders played at the same time as joey and fitler. In reality therea cameron smith, cooper and Billy's storm team, even the lateat edition of the panthers been pretty high up there. Not to mention teams since joeys days and teams before joeys days lol.
Broncos went back to back twice that decade and did 4 in 3 years. That’s got to count for something

Well the super league champ did play the nrl champ and broncos decimated the knights
Evens Johns himself has said his Knights probably lose to Brisbane in 97
The 2010 dragons team was pretty stacked but not as much as broncos / raiders
Hard to beat those two sides, 2 great teams..
94 Raiders
Penrith going through the entire season unbeaten?
2002/3 warriors 💯

Actually that raiders side did breach the cap by a good amount.
Josh Reynolds is a grub
For me it’s the 1998 broncos. For me lockyer and langer are obvious immorality.
Yeah 👍
I still know so many educated footy fans who say langer is the best 7 they’ve seen
I assume you mean immortality 😂

Mullins was past his best & Mini was only just cracking into 1st grade if I recall.

even 2007 Melbourne Storm we're unstoppable
