Hey, this sounds really amazing, great job! Would appreciate next videos with Fly Rig setups, helps a lot to get the right sound! Do you plan to make more of Rammstein? Thanks!
Haha fantastic guitar, I bought one to match my ancient ESP Eclipse Paul Landers, swapped out the pickups for black Bare Knuckle Nailbombs for a more oldschool Herzelied/Sehnsucht era tone, as well as the look, in combination with chrome pickup rings! Two beautiful sisters, one in drop D, one in drop C and below
Thanks for the video! Great Playing! I have a question, when you said boost 5, level 3, high 6, etc It’s like a clock? Or it’s like 0 = mini / 10 = maxi / 5 = middle Thanks 😉
Hi, i didnt play guitar for a while and want to buy this thing. Can u shortly explain the way i connect it to an amplifier or Box? Looking forward to hear from you. Your sound is amazing the way it is in this video.
Can you explain the settings a little bit better because everything looks to be at center and I’m not sure what you mean by everything but I did just buy the pedal and you guys are your sound sounds right on. Can you explain how me to set it?
Please, can someone answer on my question? How did he play all of these songs without tuning his tune tuning pegs on guitar? they are on same position. I mean for example "ich will" is drop D, but "Benzin" is drop C, but tuning pegs on same position on his guitar. I've just started to play guitar so maybe i'm missing something, will be really appreciated if someone can explain me this:)
Yeah, it seems the video was recorded after, at some points you can see some very very little unsynchronized parts, but the video is so well mounted, looks excellent! Also it would take too much time to tune and de tune the guitar while recording all in 1 session, the guitar needs to get along with tension otherwise it would suffer any damage. There's a guitar from Line 6, the Shuriken something... I just can't remember the name, in which you can through software add different guitar aounds and tunnigs, so you just select which tuning you need, from Drop tunnings to half-steps or whole step tunings too, that's a great guitar!
Hello there. Can you tell me, please, which string gauge u are using here? Seems like its fits really well on drop d, c and even e standart. Which is this?
Just curious, I bought the chop tones sans amp pack and just noticed this video is exactly the same as the one for the Headrush you guys sell. So what is it? Is it the recording of the sans amp or the Headrush pedalboard? I’ll be frank, no matter what settings I use, the one you sell for the Headrush sounds nothing like the video. I just spent the last three hours testing every possible option on my pedalboard on one song and it sounds nothing, absolutely nothing like this.
All videos has been reamped with the mentioned device. Cam shooting is the same, but audio track isn't. The tones available in the pack are exactly the same you could hear in the promo video.
Can I please ask, what have you got this plugged in to? I've tried running it through my amp and headphones and all sorts of things, multiple ways on your settings and the recommended ones for Paul's tone and I'm not getting anywhere near the same sound at all. Yours has much more clarity to it and mine constantly has too much other sound, either muddy, tinny, radioy etc and I've even got an eq to try to sort that and tried all sorts of amp settings and the effects loop bypassing my preamp etc.. I just don't get it... Thank you for your help!
@ChopTonesOfficial output into what? An audio interface running into a computer in a recording program? If so, what interface and recording program please and thank you?
After 14 years of playing Paul's parts on the same instruments as him with the same gear (I.e. SansAmp PSA-1, new and vintage SansAmp GT2s, and the Fly Rig) I can honestly say that the biggest lesson I learned is this: it's takes a LOT of practice to dial in a tone that feels right for the song, AND sounds great either playing along, or in a mix. If you focus on what the amp sounds like alone, the tones you gravitate to often don't cut through a mix (or when playing along). This isn't helped by the fact that is your tone is too close to the original track, you won't enjoy playing it: you'll just play cat and mouse with the volume, either not being able to hear yourself, or not being able to hear the rest of the band. Even total success has downsides... the perfect tone would only sound good played as the only guitar track in the mix! Practice yourself to soul destroying boredom using the PL-1, and preferably get a SansAmp PSA-1 rack unit to do the same (Sehnsucht tone in a box, and cheap these days, avoid the PSA-1.1 and PSA-2.0, there total shite for industrial metal.) You'd do very well to get a few SansAmp GT2 pedals from different eras, and see which one works for you, sell the ones that aren't as good. Literally live the Tech21 SansAmp range, whatever it takes.... I've got a janky brain the responds... in a useful way to dopaminergic substances, that's one method to bang out a 16 hour sesh making PSA-1 presets to tweak and sort later. Eventually you end up with a bank of SHIT hot presets for every Rammstein song. Paul's tone is best learned with no EQ, just pedal/rack into an interface, nice low latency, and just a hint of room reverb to simulate a bit of cabinet vibe. But yeah, he does indeed use everything DI, in contrast to Richard. Later on you can experiment with saturation, EQ, compression, etc, but one you can get a decent DI tone, you're winning. If you want a versatile sound suitable for all albums, get some Bare Knuckle Nail Bomb pickups (one for the bridge anyway, it's all you'll use), but the EMGs used in his (discontinued) ESP Eclipse worked great until I wanted more feel from the pickups!
Spot on: Sehnsucht is almost entirely the SansAmp PSA-1, both DI into the mixing desk, and run into a power amp (of the Marshall variety) to power a cabinet. The PSA-1 with passive pickups is literally Sehnsucht in a box as far as Paul's tone goes. Herzeleid is the same, but Paul hadn't quite mastered in to my ears at that point. The PSA is tweakable and insanely powerful to the point where it's painfully difficult to learn how to use. It isn't the preamp for a certain amp, it allows you to modify the gain stages of the unit in such detail that it's more like a sandbox amp creator. Sounds great for industrial metal (Peter Tagtgren of PAIN uses it heavily, as does Ministry's Uncle Al Jourgensen, think Lies Lies Lies and Rio Grande Blood).
THIS. Absolutely only for running DI into a mixing desk/PA, exactly like Paul does. That's the whole Rammstein tone, the mo-amp-SansAmp VS the hefty Dual Recto!
It's a full rig with cabinet emulation. You don't use it in front of an amp. That would be like running a full amp and cab miced up onto another amp. You can use it with a monitor or FRFR speaker cab tho!
Great job. I swear to god it's about time someone finally made this video.
What a guy! Nice moves, and thanks for clear rig setup!
Great video! Thank you very much. It would be nice if you make more videos with the settings from other songs.
the video is about the settings from the albums
Amazing thanks for doing this video, surprised i have not seen this before
Saving up for the fly rig, excited to get one, won't have to fool with amps.

Nice Video, thank you, nice playing and sounding!🎉

The video is cool, but there are inaccuracies, the song Gasoline is not from the Mutter album, but from the Rosenrot album, but everything is great
I like the sound very much. please do a capture in bias amp or thu or tonex . so can buy
Great sound

We easily recorded the PL1 output, no amp.
It's XLR out. You can plug it straight into a PA. I run my Jazz bass into a VT and into a Mackie Thump 1x12 powered PA.
Where did you buy the bracelet?? I want to buy

Second part please!

Amazing sound. When you say 10, it's all the way up. You turn the button completely on the right and 5 is in the middle (twelve o'clock) ?

Could’ve used a digitech drop pedal or something similar to change tunings for certain songs
Benzin is from Album Rosenrot, not Mutter :)
Can you use the jack output with a d.i. and the xlr at the same time to have a stereo output?
Is the eclipse stock with the emg 81 bridge and emg 60 neck?
