I find it next to impossible to pull the knod back to lock the firing pin into the locked safety position. Or am I wrong, this is not safety but some other purpose.?
I have a M39 VKT. Likewise, the bolt knob was VERY (and I do mean VERY hard, barely do-able) hard to pull back, whether trying to strip the bolt assembly, trying to put on the safety, or lifting up the bolt handle after having fired the rifle. I replaced the firing pin spring with a new aftermarket spring. That cured all the above problems and functions perfectly.
I have a type 1 I believe 1931 91/30 that has both the arrow and the star markings on the bolt
Cool video.i would like any video that involves mosin.cleaning dirty old rifle bores is always cool

Since my 1923 ex dragoon has a type 2 cocking piece, i can assume its not original?
It has a type 1 cocking piece but isn't dated
Hmu if you got your finger skin inder the kocking piece when you pulled the lock safe while it was off the rifle 😂
Hey Thanks Big Sam! Is it possible to have a 91/30 ishev dated 1929?
I have one as well
They aren't true 91/30 as the '30 model wasnt produced until I believe 1931. They are previous models like the Dragoon that have been converted.
what happened to it's not what you know, it's what you can prove?

No, it's definitely the safety/bolt lock. It's meant to be operated while wearing leather gloves.

No evidence, No Crime.
