Fried Bananas (banana emoji)
These sweet treats are the perfect addition to any dinner party or late night snack-they’re oh-so-crispy and not too sweet ;)
Ingredients (serves 4-6)
Batter
-3/4 cup rice flour
-½ cup all-purpose flour
-½ cup cornstarch
-½ cup cane sugar, plus more for sprinkling
-1½ tsp baking powder
-½ cup coconut milk
-¼-½ cup water
-½ cup grated coconut or rehydrated shredded coconut (optional)
-1 Tbsp black sesame seeds
-1 Tbsp white sesame seeds
-2 tsp ground cinnamon
Fried Bananas
-10-15 Thai bananas
-2 cups vegetable oil
Preparation
In a medium bowl, whisk together the rice flour, all-purpose flour, cornstarch, sugar, baking powder, coconut milk, water, black and white sesame seeds, and grated coconut, if using. Let rest for 30 minutes.
Peel the bananas and cut in half lengthwise.
Heat the oil in a medium pot over medium heat until the temperature reaches 350°F (180°C).
Working in batches to avoid overcrowding, the pot, dip the banana halves into the batter, then drop straight into the hot oil. Fry for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
Sprinkle some sugar on top for an extra crispy crunch.
Enjoy!
In Kerala they have a similar dish and call it pazham puri 😊

I thought she was over there crunching on chicken at first. 🙈
THE CRUNCH
Are those green or ripe bananas but make sense if green to be crunchy when fried.
I love fried plantains, but only when they’re sweet 😂 do fried bananas taste similar?
They do remind me of plantains a little, but are a lot sweeter and I personally enjoy them more.
Prefer turon for its simplicity 😊
Of course she says Vietnam food is the best, absolutely unbiased. Of course... 😅😏

I’m sorry but Jamaicans is better
😀 Gosh they look good, I need a plate of these.😌 Coconut and banana… hell YES!!!
Nope....nooopeee. if you put that many ingredients in the batter YOU'RE DISRESPECTING THE TASTE OF BANANAS ITSELF. 🇵🇭 Our version is beloved the world over because we don't overdo our cuisine, simple ingredients the better.
In Filipino we call it Maruya 🇵🇭
Boleh bagi resepnya
Thai and Cambodian fried bananas are bomb!! Where’s the recipe at?

Aaaaaa. 😂
Try saint Vincent
In Kerala we make it with plantains ...we flavour the batter with cardamom spice instead of cinnamon....we add a small pinch of cumin seeds too😊
They are tasty, and all over the streets many vendors do them on the spot. But, they are too greasy and doughy some times (at least Hanoi). Many other banana dishes that win from VN tbh.
I knew Viet are just Latino from another continent. Welcome our sweet people!!! :0
Can it also be done with regular bananas or it has to be Tai bananas?
Vietnamese fried bananas with Thai ingredients 😂
