    Finally, someone who gets it. I went on reddit to ask people what proof had come out regarding the Issue.
    And the only thing they kept saying was along the lines of.
    "It doesn't matter if he is innocent or not, he is still an a-hole and deserves cancellation"
    Most of these calls to cancel came from Anime fans, people I expected the least to hear from concerning cancellation, especially considering how much controversial stuff is going on there(pedophilia).
    But at last Justice was served and I couldn't be more happy.
    Thank you for sharing the truth, this cancelling people thing needs to stop.

    I am surprised that he was cleared, not because of the thought that “if you’re charged, it’s for good reason” but because WB and everyone let him go so quickly. I thought that indicated that there was something that they knew they we didn’t and they were trying to stay ahead of it. I didn’t think that they would jeopardize their highly lucrative franchise on rumors… but I guess I was wrong. It appears they really did think that Roiland was expendable and not worth the risk. Which maybe they’re still right about, with respect to his pioneering, perhaps he isn’t that creatively involved with his shows anymore. Or maybe they’ll just end up rehiring him, hard to say.
    It is different from Ezra Miller though. The Flash movie is in the can and they can’t fire him without taking a massive financial loss. All of these other situations are different… Amber Heard has reportedly had her Aquaman role greatly reduced. Johnny Depp lost Fantastic Beasts, but that role was already played by a different actor in the previous film and he didn’t have any other major projects where he was critical. There’s always a calculus going on here and it’s hard to differentiate between how guilty companies think someone is and how important they think they are. Time will always tell, I suppose!

    • @termitreter6545
      @termitreter6545 Рік тому +5

      Yeah Im very surprised about this. The charges seemed so severe, specific and old, with people talking like this was basically a done deal, so I assumed Roiland most likely did some bad stuff.
      Now hes cleared? If this is legit and Roiland really didnt do anything that bad, then he got horribly unfairly treated, and these kinds of accusation are going to make it much harder for people that are actually being abused to get help.
      Well see. Personally I think its a good mentality to always be a bit reluctant with this stuff. Theres both a lot of horrible people in Showbussiness, but also a lot of false accusations.

    This is what has happened when a part of society just becomes intolerant. And it’s partially on those who yell at you to be tolerant. Glad you’re vindicated Vito but sadly I think cancel culture won’t go away. Not till those people who seek to cancel people are held accountable for their actions. The notion “believe all women” is also problematic because you don’t allow for due process to be followed as demanded and because those who advocate it are the ones to quickly render a verdict on those who are the victims in some cases like this

    • @termitreter6545
      @termitreter6545 Рік тому

      Lets be real tho: Yes, there is false accusation, but there also is very long history of woman getting destroyed, manipulated and abused, and not just in Hollywood. Lots of horrible persons that just got away with everything they did.

    I fear our U.S. legal system. I was wrongly acused and lost my case. Anyone can become victimized by the u.s. legal system. Previously, I would had never believe that the system could be so flawed until I was unexpectedly blamed for something which I hadn't done. 😢 What I'm saying is sometimes when the court system finds someone guilty or innocent doesn't mean that they truly are. I'm so disgusted. After my situation occurred, I often wonder how many innocent people are serving time in the pokey.

    we should all be worried about this type of stuff. Look at andrew tate, like him or not he’s been in prison for nearly 3 months now with zero evidence he’s done anything wrong. We should be up in arms about this. A precedent is being set that you can be taken away, imprisoned , cancelled etc without any evidence, just someone’s word. It’s very scary

    • @termitreter6545
      @termitreter6545 Рік тому

      Wtf? The accusations against Andrew Tate are a lot worse and more substantial. Romanian authorities raided Tates home because he supposedly held two women captive. Hes got rape and human trafficking allegations.
      The stuff hasnt played out yet, his guilt hasnt been determined, but to say there is zero evidence is BS. And no, romanian authorities arent an extension of american mainstream media, that has nothing to do with your little culture war.
      Its also a bit ironic to talk about how bad cancelling is, while defending a guy with "women are for making children and belong in the kitchen"-rethorics. He "loves" women when they are stuck at the place where he thinks they belong.

    • @mediumeffort3315
      @mediumeffort3315 Рік тому

      Tate's in jail because he made the Romanian government and police look bad. The moment I saw a video about him bragging about how easy life in Romania is because he can just bribe the cops with wads of cash I knew he was screwed.
      He could have lived this exact same lifestyle down in Mexico and bribed his way out of any minor/moderate indiscretion (real or made up by the authorities). However, the moment a viral clip would go round about him bragging about bribing local cops and federales would be the moment they stop being bribable and are out for blood.
      Tate brought his own misfortune on himself. His hubris caused him to break the golden rule about bribing corrupt cops, that being don't brag to a massive global audience that the country that you live in that you are neither a citizen nor an ethnic descendent of is full of local officials that you buy off with bribes because you're such a baller.
      Why nobody talks about this angle is beyond me. The country is still run by (most) of the same families that ran it under communism. How did he think they'd take it if he made them look like corrupt buffoons globally?

    I can't stand _Rick and Morty,_ but that doesn't mean I'm going to jump on a badwagon as soon as someone involved with it is accused of something. This whole episode is indicative of our infuriating willingness to instantly try people in the court of public opinion and gleefully ostracize them without a second thought.
    It's also one of those issues that's become easier to ignore thanks to our craving for vapid catch phrases. "Defund the police." "Black lives matter." "Believe women." "Cancel culture." None of these things are adequately described by the terms we use to refer to them, and they effectively generate their own straw men for people who will just decide that the name means the most offensive thing they can come up with, since they weren't given an explanation or a description, just a slogan yelled into a megaphone without nuance or context.

Most of the heat Roiland was getting was in regards to the multiple texts and statements he made in which he was directly sexually harrassing minors and his employees - which Roiland didnt really address in his statements.

    Honestly, I still don’t completely trust this. If charges are dropped, that doesn’t mean the person is completely innocent.
    The jury just deemed there wasn’t enough evidence to prove these allegations were true, they still could be though.
    The legal system is known for dropping charges even though the person may still be guilty.
    I’m happy he got fired as he was apparently a dickhead to other employees.

    I hear what you’re saying about judging a celebrity off of he said she said evidence being wrong. I think it’s terrific news that Justin’s name has been cleared too. However I just want to point out that in a court of law character witnesses evidence is admissible in a lot of circumstances. And the price for fame is having yourself as a character in the public light. I’m crazy excited for the new season of rick and morty too. With that being said I feel no shame or guilt for judging Justin Rolland the way I did. His public behaviors and persona provided character evidence openly to the public for public opinion. He acts like a 14 year old kid. No wonder morty’s age. When you actually attempt to project your persona of a kid as an adult it loses its charm. When I watch interviews and events with Justin in them, I think his domineer is creepy. And being I’ve gotten that impression from his public behavior I don’t feel sorry for taking character evidence into consideration on if I think Justin Rolland is guilty or not.

      @@Macheako no I don’t. His public persona screams someone who would do the crimes in question. It’s cool it seems he didn’t. I’m not sorry for judging a personality that behaves in a way he thinks is cool to act eccentrically childish as an adult. When it was Johney depp I didn’t think so because his style of eccentricism was eccentric but in an adult manner. At this point he really should leave behind animation; because if he were accused of a believable crime or lewd behaviors again I’d find it believable. Character evidence when you’ve made yourself a public figure is absolutely admissible in the court of public opinion. I’m excited for the next season of rick and morty regardless of Justin Rolland’s attendance or absence. I hope Justin Rolland goes to work on changing his public persona. I think if maybe he did some charity work and quit drinking; my overall opinions of who he’s trying to portray himself as might change. And I’m not someone who thinks that working in charity are needs for people’s character. I’m just pointing out the elephant in the room that his character’s been damaged for years before all this. You are who you portray yourself.

      if there is doubt that means no the whole truth was given by the acuuser. LEgally speaking that is the precident. This is why it is innocent till proven guilty beyond resonable doubt. Someone just saying something in text or passing is meaningless unless words are put into action. and since there wasn't any or not enough to confirm these actions took place he's innocnet. case closeed

      I totally agree with the 'innocent until proven guilty', and beyond reasonable doubt. Ive been in jury duty and had to be faced with that. But this case didn't even get brought to a trial because there wasn't enough evidence to argue over. Just she said - he said. But it isnt "case closed". Just case dismissed. If enough evidence can be brought forward in the future, it can be brought to court again. But yes, in this specific circumstance with his ex, he is innocent until proven guilty.
