Salat Tauba can be performed at any time you remembrer your sins. Can be 2 or 4 rakat. Can be done for mayor or minor sins. Allah says in Surah Al-Zumar, verse 53: Say, Oh my servant, the one who has wronged himself, do not despair from the mercy of Allah, indeed Allah forgives all sins, Indeed he is the oft-forgiving, The Most Merciful. You see here in this verse Allah is telling us explicitly that he forgives all sins. The scholars are unanimously agreed that the prayer of repentance is prescribed in sharee’ah. Abu Dawood (1521) narrated that Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: “There is no one who commits a sin then purifies himself well and stands and prays two rak’ahs, then asks Allaah for forgiveness, but Allaah will forgive him. Then he recited this verse: ‘And those who, when they have committed Faahishah (illegal sexual intercourse) or wronged themselves with evil, remember Allaah and ask forgiveness for their sins; - and none can forgive sins but Allaah - and do not persist in what (wrong) they have done, while they know’ [Aal ‘Imraan 3:135].” Classed as sahaah by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood. Ahmad (26998) narrated that Abu’l-Darda’ (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: “The one who does wudoo’ and does it well, then stands and prays two rak’ahs or four (one of the narrators was uncertain), in which he remembers Allaah and focuses well, then asks Allaah for forgiveness, He will forgive him.” The editor of al-Musnad said: its isnaad is hasan. It was also quoted by al-Albaani in Silsilat al-Ahaadeeth al-Saheehah (3398).
Assalama Aleykum to all my Muslim brothers and sisters. Today is Friday and let's not forget to send Salutations to our beloved Prophet Mohamed PBUH today insha'Alla and read Surah Al Kahf insha'Allah.
Subhanallah. May Allah forgive my sins past and future sin. May Allah forgive all Muslims who want to ask forgiveness and repentance. Ameeeen yarabbil A'lameen.
1 - Whoever says SubhanAllahi wa biHamdihi (Glory be to Allah and Praise Him) a hundred times during the day, his sins are wiped away, even if they are like the foam of the sea [Sahih al-Bukhari; #7:168, Sahih Muslim; #4:2071] 2 - whoever says SubhanAllahi wa biHamdihi, Subhan-Allahi 'l-`adheem (Glory be to Allah, and Praise, Glory be to Allah, the Supreme) Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Two words are light on the tongue, weigh heavily in the balance, they are loved by the Most Merciful One " [Sahih al-Bukhari; #7:67, Sahih Muslim, #4:2071] 2
Salat-ul-Tawbah You can follow the simple instructions that the Prophet Mohammed ﷺ gave us, which is to offer 2 Rakat Nafal Prayer (optional prayer). Then seek the forgiveness by asking for Allah’s forgiveness in Dua. Pre-requisite to tawbah is that you are in a state of ritual abolution or Wudu and that you are remorseful about transgressing the bounds of Allah. Prophet Mohammed ﷺ said “There is no one who commits a sin, then purifies himself and stands in Salah and offers two raka’at and seeks forgiveness, except that Allah will forgive him..
Solat taubah is a 2 rakaah voluntary solat to seek repentance; can be performed at any time of the day, but best done after waking up from sleep the last 3rd of the night. If you’re afraid you may not be able to wake up the last 3rd of the night, the next best time to do it is right after Isya’ before going to sleep; you then get the points for Qiyam together. Solat tahajjud is 2 rakaah voluntary prayer performed any time between Isya’ and Fajr, after waking up from sleep. Qiyam is the solat done anytime between Isya’ and Fajr’, before you go to sleep. Sheikh Yasir Qadhi just released a video on Epic channel, differentiating Qiyam, Tahajjud and Tarawih
