Honestly what’s pisses me off is that UA-cam promoted his content when he was genuinely bullying children, but now his content is too much? I get changing political sides over time, but he was making multiple, follow up videos on literal kids that weren’t even critical, just toxic. They had no ethics back then, but now they do? I dunno, it doesn’t seem genuine, not virtue signalling per say because I’d rather not resort to just saying someone’s ethical stance is just fake to act cool, but shouldn’t they have just removed his channel when he wasn’t making content? When his videos could’ve been more justified in a takedown?
Edit: Tay Zonday explained my point well. Leafy’s previous content definitely could’ve been taken down at any time, and even though it was funny in a way, I wouldn’t even think it wasn’t justified. UA-cam endorsed his content in the past, then wants to terminate it? I think it’s a way to try and cut ties with that part of their history.

Still I don't think thats a reasoning for the person who bullies kids to have a platform, the platform evolved to be more regulated and respectful to others, it does not make the fact that just because leafy could have been banned a long time ago does not mean he should be allowed to stay, I do not really understand the people defending leafy in this situation as leafy lived off bullying or harassing other people and got multiple warnings near his termination and still going, can someone explain to me why people actually defend leafy?

He didn't say anything about it, causing most of cancel culture to believe he actually did do it and started to do their thing. When asked to comment on the situation from other sources, he declined which fueled the fire even more. ProJared then released a video, explaining that his ex-wife framed him (as said in this video, from the man himself), and the Internet cooled down with their whole ”guilty before proven innocent” stance. And now, he’s happy for Leafy’s channel being terminated even though he’s been canceled. Hope this could explain the situation more clearly :)

Never liked Leafy's content but this is a real issue, and it's the same issue that people have had with Twitch. Once again, a major platform uses a term they haven't defined to pick and choose who to remove from the platform. Not to mention that it can be a horrible weapon in the hands of a troll.

It's simple. Majority of these "nice"content creators who claim to advocate for "no de-platforming" and "freedom of speech" are only doing so to save face. I don't understand her reaction, surely the smartest most logical thing to do was come up with a response of some sort to Augie's totally warranted claim. Blocking Augie within less than a minute of his response was the worst possible move she could've made. These people thinking that they get more hate for speaking up, no speaking up gets you respect, blocking people is how you get hate mobbed.

Even if you hated him, it’s beside the point here. The purpose of the strike system is to let users know that they violated the (vague) rules and let them change how they’re behaving accordingly. If UA-cam was going to take action against Leafy, they should’ve striked one of his Pokimane videos to let him know that he was violating the rules. What really worries me is that Leafy isn’t even the first youtuber to have this happen. Mumkey Jones‘ channel also received 3 strikes in a very short period of time and was deleted. The fact that UA-cam has started to ban people without giving them any warning and the fact that these rules are applied very inconsistently (Jaystation received very little repercussion from YT iirc after faking his gf’s death for views, mamamax got a video taken down for “harassment” when he was calling out pedos, and some of the makeup community drama includes way worse bullying than any of Leafy’s recent content) could unfairly affect many more content creators in the future

Whether you like Leafy or not you can't deny the fact that UA-cam took down his channel without any warning whatsoever. The logical thing to do would be to warn him for harassment (strike one video, email him with conditions, etc) so that he can take down the videos that are deemed harassment by UA-cam and have a second chance as a content creator. This is exactly like how Mumkey Jones went down, he got 3 strikes at the same time and was instantly taken down even though the point of a strike is supposed to be a warning to not make that type of content. Leafy may be a bad person to some people but objectively speaking straight up taking down his channel out of the blue for making unacceptable content (after years of unacceptable content) with no warning and no chances to turn around and change for the better isn't right, at least to me.

Honestly even a year later I still think Leafy’s ban was unfair, sure he was toxic af in 2016, but his content after he returned was pretty tame. Plus most of the Pokimaine videos were actually Leafy talking about the stock market and trade. Plus people coming out and immediately shitting on him when he got banned is proof of how many cowards there are on the platform.
