All felt lost. The skies bled a heavy shade of red as screams of agony, loss, hopelessness, pain echoed through the fields. The ground was scorched the unforgiving embers consuming whatever poor soul was pushed into it’s vicious wildfires. The armies wavered, shaken but not broken. But determination does not win a war, and there may be only one victor, such spoke the rules of the ancient lands. There were no means of retreat either. They were surrounded from all sides, by foes and traitors alike. “No matter the cost, you must rise to protect those who cannot protect themselves.” The reason they had taken the blood oath. To protect their families and their kingdom. They would not surrender, they would not falter. The last few warriors, their metal armors clanking, stood up, and raised their swords and Shields. Their leader yelled out their war cry, a defensive dome of shields surrounding the remaining troops, a seemingly impenetrable barrier, as they prepared to face the next wave.
I just made this up while listening to the song. There’s really no entirely deep meaning to it, though you’re free to analyze it like that. Just a few of my musings placed into words, a mere fragment of imagination with no background planning. Hope you had a fun read at least.
