Switched from Hoka to Inov8 Trailfly G270 and it’s the best trail running shoe I have ever owned. Low stack height vs Hoka so I can feel the ground and my form.
Forget the trail running shoes I'm loving the fab socks in the video great vlog again really nice to see you talking about affordable trail running shoes. Feel a running sock vlog Coming 😂😂😂
Excellent & much appreciated video during the cost of living crisis! Amazingly picked up some Peregrine 12, last week, from JD Sport for £66 delivered! Should have got 2 pairs really.
Just the vid I’ve been waiting for. Have the Reebok adv 4 already which is a great value road to trail shoe but looking for something a little more grippy for off road running. Like the Peregrines, will take a look! 👌
Glad to see you mentioned the slabs on sportshoes, what a bargain with the EA discount, I got them down to 82 so bought myself 2 pairs! (Picking up what I can before everything goes crazily cushioned with huge stacks😩)
Love my Speedgoat 4s. They are over a year old now and still look great. I bought the black limited edition option. They make me smile every day. They seemed a bit expensive initially, but they have been fantastic value. They make me go running 🏃.
One thing I found with the Inov8 300s, it said they fit half a size small so I bought both 10s and the 10.5s, it felt fine with the 10.5s wearing them in the house for a week but when I took them out, I definitely needed the 11s! Fortunately I picked them up for a good deal but I'm still a little sad on the inside.
Good afternoon Run4adventure and all the runners. Interesting review, Loyd......the Black Friday is coming.....Here is my like. A nice Monday for everyone. ☀️🏃♂️⛰
how bout the asics fuji lite 3? i've seen them for about 85 euros online somewhere recently, heard lots of good thing about them. obviously the v2s are still out there on a nice discount. great video Loyd!
That's a good round up Loyd. I broke in my SG 5s and then used them at Wendover Woods yesterday. (timed out at the end of lap 3 😥 ) but I haven't found them as good as the 4s. They seem bigger and my foot moves around more. I'm a 9.5 in most shoes but always went for a 10 in SGs and I've had every iteration with no problem. So I'd be keen to get some 4s for back up. Also, check Norther Runner, they have Peregrine 11 for £86 and 12 for £98 right now. Would definitely like to see similar road based round up.
picked up the trailfly for £73 as a Black Friday deal from inov8, already have a green pair so chose the blue, it looks so much better in real life! really happy and they were great on recent Cornish coastal paths, even after a lot of rain
Everyone loves a good bargin!! I was looking for bargain deals on amazon earlier today! I would love to hear your review on saucony tr 15 I think is what they were called.
Sometimes it seems that the best version of a shoe is two or more generations ago. Is it ok to look for bargains on site's that are more years out of production? I.e. if you know a site hasn't been manufactured for multiple years, but they're still brand new and very cheaply had, will they still be in good shape to buy?
That's the only reason I'm resisting. I had already seen the reductions, and I absolutely love the G 270's, but I have 2 fairly low milage pairs, so don't need any now. And I don't want to stock up only to see a new version come out in a few months (the nitro sole might make an appearance there, maybe...?). So I'll keep hold of my money for now. 😁
Has anyone tried NEW BALANCE TRAIL SUMMIT UNKNOWN V3? I seen someone on instagram hurtling down a muddy mountain trail in these on the Golden Trail series. Seemed to have plenty of grip
It's a strange shoe because I didn't even know it had released!? You're right the outsole looks pretty aggressive and it's got a fuelcell midsole, it should run well 🤔
Nice one Andy 👍 I'm hoping we'll make it to Chamonix for UTMB week. Unfortunately I don't have any stones so I can't enter any of the races 😕 Liga has put in for the CCC so hopefully she'll get in 🤞 Are you going to be out there?
Oh that’s a shame. Fingers crossed she gets a place! I’m out for the marathon du Mont Blanc weekend in June and for 2 weeks in August before UTMB week. Really looking forward to it
Love this. There's so much about expensive shoes (and I get it, manufacturers often provide them to multiple reviewers, there's a hype - even if the review isn't glowing, that gives views and so on), but realistically this is also helping normalise a 200 Imperial credit running shoe which is exactly what the industry want. I balk at even spending 100 imperial credits on a shoe, and can't justify that for anything but a purpose specific piece of performance footwear, but like your suggestions I often buy 'last years' model...
Love this vlog! Shoe prices get crazy (high) these days, so it is really valuable to see you cán get good shoes that are affordable

great shoe, I used the trailultra and really liked it but unfortunately they made the trailfly narrower so now it doesn't fit my fat feet.

No problem Mark, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 🙏😊

Love these types of videos, quick recap and review of different shoes is really helpful!
Really glad you enjoyed the video Adam. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Very interesting review Loyd. Missed the Peregrines at Sportshoes. Grr. Road shoe version would be cool too!

Always a great video!
Helpful and thanks for the tips. Helps me get into trail running 😬
Great informative vid, will look into getting a pair of something from your advice in the new year

Floatride adventure 4 is awesome. Had 4 pairs. Just got a pair of the new adventure 5.
are they great for all day wear/ road? any water resistance
@@jah-leah the 4s are great. Yes to both. 5s definitely not. Awful shoe
@@pete801 thanks so much!
Love the outtakes 😂
There's plenty more where they came from 😂😂😂
Thanks for watching 🙏
Try to find sales for The North Face Enduris2 or Eminus both are great trail choice.
I'll take a look 👍
Thanks for watching 😊

@@Run4Adventure looks like it’s back at that price today too… must be trying to shift stock but I’m happy it’s a great shoe
Killian Jornets shoe has finally dropped the NNormal looks amazing both the racing and training version
Just bought the Reebok adventure 4 for 50 squid and a few pence with 30% sale price + discount code. Thanks for the info.

Great video , yes to the road shoe video 👍
Cheers Darren, watch this space! Thanks for watching 🙏😊
Really enjoyed this Loyd and super helpful. Do you have any thoughts about which of these shoes might be the best for a mix of road and trails....?
Picked up a pair of the floatride 4 adv for 50odd quid a few weeks ago, not run in them yet but iv got loads of miles on my road version and love em
You can't go wrong for £50 Chris, that's great value! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊

I was waiting for the bargain shoes. Prices are mad.
g270 for £87 is cracking value. i wonder if they're bringing in another 0 drop shoe

I can't forget my surge 2 601 marathon running shoe and my orange karrimor swift trail shoes
They just stopped making them , and I can't let them go

@@Run4Adventure cheap as chips too
It looks similar to the New Balance Hierro trail (another good shoe)
i have newbalance hierro v7 and adidas freehiker 2
I love the Hierros.....I have 4 pairs of the Version 6 Hierros sitting in my closet .
@@michaelpalm2210 i bougt one and then they disappear
Really intrigued to try out the Reeboks after how I've found the road version of the Floatride, really light and nimble
Late to the party on this one! I picked up a pair of the Inov-8s for the trails next year.
Are you in the alps for UTMB again in 2023?

I got a 2nd pair of TNF Vectiv for only 63 quid!
Anymore news on the New Balance?
Try the NB Hierro V6 or V7.....V7 has a more aggressive deeper lug tread than the V6
Disappointed you dont mention any Decathlon trail shoes. They make some great trail shoes with low normal prices.
I picked up the New Balance more trail V2 for £98 on their website
Love this.

I got the Salomon Ultraglide for £76. Bargain!
Where did you get that price ? Thanks
Still got my pair of Peregrine 11, not like the 10, but not bad. 🙂
Totally agree Rob 👍😊
Great it's not just me that can't let his trainers go
Fond memories 😁
Did he say! £280!..... surely not.
🙃Yup....
Speedgoat like $200 brahbrah
$200?
£280 is nothing compared to Cycling Shoes
😮😂
