    Fantastic thank you so very much. I was looking for a particular simple answer to a question I had about th emost basic use of markers... this has opened my eyes. This is exactly what I have needed to know to do thngs in resolve to which I could not see a solution. Markers the last place I would have imagined these solutions to come from. I love this software, every time I think I have found a limitation it gets solved. It is such a sophisticated pìece of software that seems to have a solution for everything ... when you find it. A roller coaster of a learning curve. Thanks again, I am going to have a look and see what other topics you cover, subbed .-)

      Thank you-you can navigate between markers by using Shift+up/down on the keyboard. Or you can filter the Edit Index to show just markers in Resolve like I showed in the video.

    I tried to search for the marker name, notes or keywords in the edit index but it didn`t work. Is there a way to search for marker content? You can do this in premiere, and I feel like this is the best way to use markers.

    just a note, marking this way is only ok if you've finished trimming. otherwise, after trimming, your marker doesnt follow. if you want your marker to follow, you have to click and ensure the video is highlighted red, then mark. hope that makes sense

    Is it possible to add a marker to the timeline inside a compound clip and make it appear on the compound clip? Just like premiere pro: If you nest a clip, go inside the nest and add a marker to the timeline, once you get back from the nested clip, it will have the marker on it. I am searching all the internet and can't find anything about it. I need this feature because I have to sync multiple creators facecams + gameplays (they all clap together) and adding markers help me sync. The problem is that I have to create a lot of multicam sequences in order to get a small timeline to start editing. Help me =(

    Great Video with a lot of helpful tips. Is there a shortcut to split a clip with various timeline markers at the respective marker positions. These are chapter markers.
    The clip is approx. 50 minutes long, has approx. 30 timeline markers and is to be separated into individual clips at precisely these marker positions.
    It would be great if you could do it all in one fell swoop.

    question, can you use markers in a rythm sense? like, if you're making an edit and you want the edit to be on beat to the music you're using, can you use m to mark the beats of the audio without pausing it?

    Is there a way in resolve to drop-fit a clip between markers?

    • @SwordShieldStudio
      @SwordShieldStudio  3 роки тому +1

      I don't think there is a way to do that specifically. However you may be able to achieve a similar result by doing some 3-point editing using the source viewer. Select the section of the clip you want to use by setting in and out points on the clip while it is in your source viewer. Then insert the clip into your timeline by hitting 'F9'. I made a video on all the 3-point edit functions in Resolve a while back that goes into more detail some different ways you can bring clips into the timeline: ua-cam.com/video/MDYccZEIIbM/v-deo.html

      @@SwordShieldStudio looking for a quick way to edit to the beat of the music, I used to tap markers while on play in Vegas, just had the idea of using a dummy clip doing the cuts to the markers and then drag-drop replace.. it might kind of work .. thanks for the suggestion will take a look at the 3 point edit video .

  • @swaha55

    Great video. Very helpful.
    If I want to use a marker to mark a place where I want to cut out a section of the clip, what is the best way to do that?
    I had some markers and when I made a cut at the first marker and then wanted to overwrite the clip to the second marker, it seemed like the markers moved and stayed on the time line instead fo staying with the clip.
    Does that make any sense? Is there a better way to mark a clip so I can cut and then overwrite the clip to the next mark?

  • @IthacaDon
    @IthacaDon Рік тому

    So markers in timelines don't show in the clips in the media pool? And it seems that you can't add markers in the cut page in source tape or looking at just one clip! Uggh! Markers in clips don't show up in timeline.
