You mention a pressure washer and i watch you enough to know you mention audial and visual messages while reading quite frequently. I want to suggest it's possible that the visual clues / cues aren't necessarily literal - like dreams. So, for the pressure washer - well, that's the cleaning off of a lot of dirt with pressure - dirt that has compiled over a long period of time.
