You are right but most of the people get into a bike because of the initial feel and look but that first year of riding one or the other puts things in perspective especially on the highway
Took my road glide from Charlotte to Daytona this year with no issues... to your point, I only stopped for gas....got to Daytona, checked in, dropped my bags off, then kept riding .... Easy !
Currently own a 2011 Street Glide with over 80k miles. It's nothing for me to ride anywhere. Recently road from Connecticut to Tampa and back. Road from Connecticut to the keys in 2021. Just ride your stuff.
i really dont know how this is a legitimate argument. They're the same bike with with different fairings. I have a SG and a RG and i dont prefer one over the other. Just blows my mind when I hear people talk about the RG like its some mythical creature. THEYRE THE SAME DAM BIKE!!!

I think the biggest thing with people transitioning from a street bike to a bagger is they get intimidated by the fixed Fairing. When In actuality a street bike is a fix fairing as well. The road glide is hands down way more comfortable and more customizable then the street glide. Last be not least when traveling longer distance with the right windshield you will feel little to no wind at all. To get the most out of any Harley the suspension, and handlebars is the first thing I suggest changing for comfort.
Just bought a 22 Road glide limited and I absolutely love it it’s just a little different feel fix fairing not fixed fairing , just test ride both 🤷🏻♂️. Keep it up great content mac 👍🏻🏁

The only advantage to a Road Glide over a Street Glide is that in high winds, or you pass a truck, the RG absorbs the wind better - but by better, it's something like 10-11% better. Everything else is identical. For over a decade, the most popular Harley was a Street Glide Special. Now, the flavor of the month is the Road Glide Special. I like them both, but to say one is so much better than the other is a fallacy. Again, if it makes you ride more, great. And yes, I have ridden 750+ miles a day on Ultra Limited, Challenger, Road Master, Road Glide Ultra, and Street Glide.
I had 2020 SG 107 & now I have the 2020 RG special 114 both same color black …i should have just went and got RG first…I wasted a few buck .. all good very happy now

Was starting to change my mind about getting a Harley. I was told to try the Road Glide. I rode one Road Glide and was sold. When I bought my Road Glide 2019, I didn't even test ride it. Signed the papers and rode it home. If you ride both bikes one after the other you will feel the difference. Both are great bikes but you want to travel, Road Glide all day.
Disagree,it’s personal choice at the end of the day. People talk about how wind effects the fairing,that’s bull. I’ve ridden both long distance and the wind hits and affects the fairing/ride the same. My preference is the SG all day over the RG.
I had a 17 ultra limited which I loved. When it came time to get a new bike I test rode a indian challenger and roadmaster limited. Then I rode the 21 roadglide limited. That was all it took for me. Now I have a 21 roadglide limited at 9k miles. Note I had over 50k on my ultra.
Shark nose fairing cuts the wind better than bat. For me better at slow speed too. 90 to 100 mph is better on shark knows if you’re looking at Rider impact. Regardless fuck with the seat first before the bars. Bat fairing upside is it’s close to you….for short armed riders who can’t put there junk on the tank.

I have to disagree. I have taken a few long distance trips on my Ultra Limited. I love that bike. I have been riding almost my entire life, and I have not met a bike that the wind didn’t push around. Also, the bat wing is just as customizable, if not more, as the road glide. It has been around longer. Lastly, the road glide fairing is just ugly.

Started with a V-Rod, upgraded to the Street Glide but now I’m on a Road Glide.
The fixed fairing was the game changer for me!
Rode SG to Houston from Charlotte and RG from Houston to Charlotte. Wasn’t enough difference for me to go get a RG. Everyone ride different I guess.
