I think he meant that he didn't hire out contractors to change every room.
I know he didn’t say it with any ill intentions, he’s probably referring that is all DIY but I found it funny because Justin is in pretty much in all of his videos always helping him out.
I would not want a curtain right next to the toilet and I can already see drew adding artwork above the toilet on the wall. Need to see his little tweaks
Yes!! I said the same. That window curtain over the shower could work, but not in this space. It was touching the toilet bowl! And think of the smells those curtains will hold.
Hard pass.
Let's be honest here, those curtains ain't cut it, they where going out either way.

I love the idea of the curtains but I agree too close to the toilet. Ewwww!
I laughed when they were painting the tiles because he did not like the direction it was going so he probably stayed up all night long to finish them himself!!

LOL, I thought the same thing, where Monica was going was not his design style. But that is ok. I liked his idea better.
Is it me or does Drew look terrified at first? 😀 When you're that creative I'm sure its hard to turn over the final design decision to someone else. Turned out beautiful.

4:36 Makes it sound like she chose the floor tile
17:10 Slips up and reveals that HE sent the tile choice to her.
3:24 he chose few options of floor and wall tiles from the website then sent it to her to pick from them
4:36 she’s revealing the tiles (picked by both of them) to him in real life he only saw pictures online
Loved the floor and vanity color. Outside of those things, I don’t think the bathroom looks like Drew’s style at all. The tile is really pretty but doesn’t seem to be his color. The hand painted tiles are definitely Drew, but don’t match the light blue ones. The white inside of the tub look’s jarring against the outside color. Too many random accessories and the marble vanity top is really pretty, but very plain compared to the other countertops in his home. The lace curtains on the builder grade rod is so random and out of place. Sconces don’t go with any of the other lighting in his house in style or finish. We’ll probably never get to see how Drew changes things, but I’m guessing it does, or will, look stunning when he’s done with it! Everything Drew does is perfection!
I think this is just meant to be a makeover to hold him over until he has the time to make more custom changes. He did pick all the main pieces like colours and tile so he must like them. I think they are likely coming off more grey than their true colour on camera. I definitely don't think this is gonna be the final look, I bet there will be a new bathroom makeover video in a years time give or take.
Definitely agree!! I think drew would come up with something better. This looks a bit too messy & drew would've definitely had more intentional items
I hate that you can see the squares the floor tiles came in. When using a cobblestone type you need to play with them outside of the square and pull out small ones to fill the cracks. Not a fan of the border, I think he did his best with what he had. It's also way too bright for him. I also figure he will eventually replace the vanity top because like it almost looks grey.
Having those shower curtains puddle on the floor in a room that is going to be humid? They are just going to be mildew collectors. Sorry, but it would have been better to leave those out.

Looks amazing. My only note would be that I think the finish on the sconces over the tub are too shiny and bright, a satin brass finish might have been better.

I’ve been watching Drew for years, and I can tell you he has exquisite taste. The mixed metals in the bathroom especially the bright brass is a no . Kudos for getting this make over. I hope he tweaks the curtains, brass lighting & the exposed screws in the shelf . Why not above the tiles??

It’s lovely, and it looks like you captured most of Drew’s taste. However, I personally did not care for the gold curtain rod and drapes, and I think there needs to be a little distressing on the vanity, especially around the ornamental pieces you attached. Outside of that it’s gorgeous.

Yes that curtain was way too close the the toilet for a man's bathroom. Yuck! I bet drew will remove it. I don't think Drew will be able to not change things.

I loved it! But you can tell it's not 100% drew's style. And hat painting of a girl on the vanity is definitely going away as soon as the camera stopped 😂 and that silver foset too , maybe the lights too😂

Gorgeous. I would swap out those shiny brass sconces on either side of that shelf...the brass looks too new.
Love this. Super cozy. Totally cohesive with the rest of the house. Love the curtains on the shower for a reveal BUT real life having light curtains around the shower amd toilet...they will look dirty soon.
Drew thats a great starting off point, but we need your final touches, and the bathtub finishes changed from silvet to gold/bronze,etc
Copper is what he wanted, so we'll see what's coming next somewhere in time especially since he's picking wall paper and material up for his guest room you just know somethings gonna change especially since the bathroom is near all the action...😂

Ok. Reveal how you got THAT tub into the doorway. It looks nearly the same as the one cut in half.
I think the floor tile is my favorite.
look at 16:35 where you can see the scale compared to the door, its also much smaller than the other one
This was an awesome transformation. SO much I love: the tiles you chose, the hand-painted border tiles, the floor, that tub, the vanity unit & the whole pulled together using a gorgeous colour scheme. Glad Drew liked it as well. It was richly deserved! Thank you Monica 😍

It feels a bit more rustic and shabby-chic than Drew's usual style but still a major upgrade from the previous design!
This makeover is just soooo STUNNING it looks as if Drew did it ALL himself!!! Monica was really able to channel his style into a perfect bathing paradise! Sign me up for the same surprise!!!

It’s beautiful but I think he should change the shower curtain, something more he’s taste. The cream lace just doesn’t sit right and it’s to long. 🙂

I thought they were going to improve the laout. Toilet still stuck in corner and now next to lace curtain. He could hit the shelf while getting in and out of the tub.
Cosmetic changes are not improvements.
I like the design but... Too many mixed metals: chrome bath faucets, black/bronze basin faucet, bronze bath, brushed gold curtain rail, very shiny yellow gold wall lights, which really don't suit the space at all, and cheapen the look.
The exposed screws on the brackets of the shelving and curtain rail don't exactly elevate the look either.
Having the curtains so close to the toilet is a little off putting, AND unhygienic.
It's also a shame the old tiles in the shower weren't changed to match the rest of the bathroom.
It's obvious this was all put together in a hurry. The floor is uneven in several parts of the room, it should have been levelled before the floor tile was placed. For example: take a look at 17.10 minutes in the video. If you look closely at the junction of the wall and the floor tiles, close to the vent, the floor looks uneven, and the placement of the lower wall tiles aren't level horizontally, the grouting where the wall and floor tiles meet is also very untidy too. However, overall it's much better than it was beforehand, but I still think Drew could have done far better, and would probably have used a vintage piece for the vanity.
I also was going to comment about the curtains. The fact that they touched the floor was off putting.
This is an ad. I think that years down the line he's probably going to demo and reno this bathroom anyways, so this was just a good opportunity for him to have his bathroom beautified in the mean time. I think there's still two other bathrooms in this house that he wants to renovate and put his time and resources in.
I don’t like the design whatsoever. It’s really weird to have such a huge makeover done for nothing. I do believe he will eventually change everything basically, nothing there is really Spanish revival or matching with his interior style
I went back to see what you were talking about & paused it at 17:01 and not only is the wall & floor tile uneven, but there is brown floor puddy/adhesive? all over the bottom of the walls. I get time restraints, but if they didn't go back after & fix all of this, I would so sue. No way did they just leave it like this for Drew to have to deal with himself.
Oh I can’t wait to see what you do with Drew’s bathroom!

I’m from Spain and the first glance of that floor tile immediately reminded me of “una tabla de embutidos”, that is a platter of cold cuts of chorizo, blood sausage, etc. when Drew and Monica said it was rich I thought “No, it looks tasty”.
Love the flooring, cabinet/sink & bathtub. I would definitely switch out all af those stainless steel fixtures & change up/update the shower. And the toilet needs to be moved over away from the shower. Otherwise, great makeover.
My first thought also was to get a plumber in to relocate the toilet.
After looking again, I believe an easy fix would have been to simply caddy-corner the toilet diagonally so that there would be more space in front of the shower.
