Excellent video! I was looking for a great how-to on this and this helped a lot. Luckily I already removed the metal loop to install my handle bar risers.
Scratched a bit of pain off removing the loop :( I added the Barkbusters bar end weights as well. I didnt have them for a while. Not sure if it made any difference..
Yeah, that's what I get for using a cheap hacksaw. Unfortunately I don't have much need for a grinder, otherwise I'd have probably gone for that option. The first day I rode without the weights, my hands got vibrated pretty badly above 3k rpm, so I ordered a set straight away.
The wiring loop does not have to be removed. Checkout the Barkbuster wedsite for instructions for installing on a KLR. I just installed these on my KLR and did not remove the wiring loop. Nice video.
I have a link to the Barkbuster site/instructions. It has pictures as illustrations. Hope this is helpful. Worked on my KLR without any issues. barkbusters.net/images/KLR650_Fitting_Tips.pdf
Well done. Made the job look easy.

I installed the same barkbusters on my 2014 KLR650 and did not need to remove the medal loop. It was a tight fit but it went on.
Thanks for sharing your mods mad dog👍
Hi, could you tell from where did you order those please?

Thanks, do you have an image? I found that it was impossible to install without cutting off the metal one.
