Suppose you entered in citroens showroom and you fell for Basalt 😂😂. Just don't bhai . Your choice is very good already Aircross 😎 one thing that I really don't like about Basalt and that is 16inches alloys
@@VivekSehrawat-k2g Yes. That happened, after test riding aircross, I sat into Basalt, just sake of curiosity. It's actually good looking car, can't ignore.
It sounds like you're expressing frustration over the way some car brands, like Hyundai, emphasize flashy features, while others, like Volkswagen, stick to the fundamentals of power and driving dynamics. Citroën, as you pointed out, seems to strike a balance with a variety of attributes. It's common for consumers to have differing priorities based on what they value-whether that's performance, design, or modern features. Each brand offers something unique, and it seems you're leaning towards appreciating the core driving experience (like VW's power) over just having a car full of extra features. At the same time, Citroën might stand out for its versatility, offering a mix of style, comfort, and practicality, which could appeal to a broader audience. What are your thoughts on how Indian car buyers are shaping their preferences in this regard?
Indian car buyers have some of the worst preferences unfortunately. Indians prioritise genuinely the wrong stuff whilst buying a car. Yes, fuel economy, space are important aspects to look at while buying a car but accepting bad build quality or buying a car for "ADAS" features or other gimmicks is what is killing the market. Taxes on cars in India are ridiculous and I understand that the buyer is cornered into buying localised products. But unfortunately the localised products even the newer VWs for a matter of fact are sub-par at best. Indians need to strive for better build quality, better engines, more variety because our market is genuinely just sad at the moment which was not the case from '00-'10.
I think Hyundai will slowly emphazing on driving dynamics bcuz Hyundai makes changes according to the customer demands and customers are leaning more towards driving feeling nowadays
@aldrinpabraham6932 i absolutely agree with you. TBH indian's fails to understand the purpose of the need. Car is required for the comfort and drivibility not for an show off. Until this understanding comes only then things will change.
Thanks for reviewing a amazing car. I recently bought C3 Aircross and must say in this segment no other brands giving such a good driving experience with a premium looks. I got 21+ mileage with turbo power and shared a review on my channel as well. I got maximum 24.9 kmpl mileage on the highway and in the City it's 15-17 kmpl. I'm very much satisfied with the car, there is a little bad experience with the dealership and the rest all fine.
0:45 The passenger in that bolero pick-up looked interested in the car and even the driver stopped the car so that they can have a better look😆 These coupe design cars really are attractive!!
Need to know more about the engine on a long term ownership. I have a swift 2008 petrol and is still running strong. my specific question is on the internal engine belt & its working.
Presently Buying a good car has become a really tough task. Driving baleno since 2018 now wanna buy a car in range 14-16 lacs. Just unable to find a good product.
I bought the top model basalt a week ago. Other cars have slightly more premium interiors . True. But ride quality, engine, space, AC, etc are very good in this car. I plan to drive this many many years.
citroen is here to stay. they have already been profitable in India due to their Engine manufacturing and export unit and they plan to stay in India long term. They will tremendously grow in sale
Compare the ride quality with cars above 50 lakhs and show it to the people. I own a Lexus Rx 350 and I test drove this car. The ride quality is on par. Nvh may be on a bit less. Would be a treat to go on long drives, the suspension is magic and the comfort level it offers is value for money. Most reviewers are afraid to compare it seems.
Door handle and door open sensor on both driver and co passenger side must be provided and basia features like cruz control must be provided.. otherwise its a fantastic car
Can you pls do a comparison of Aircross & Basalt - on all param. Performance, stability & fuel efficiency. Im asking this coz Basalt is a coupe design as it may be more aero dynamic than Aircross....so performance & fuel efficiency is it different due to design.
If Citroen comes out with features that are User friendly and Competitive with others say Nissan Magnite or Renault Kiger at a price of say AT at 11.5 Ex Showroom price, I am sure its sale numbers will exceed 5000 Cars per month. Rest is upto the Manufacturer
after sales is questionable. also for a new brand they need to price their products well a use less base variant which even they don't plan to sell its only for marketing even the top variant does not have cruise control.maybe next update would fix these.
@@TheDriversHub I too need one clarification, though recently there are very few mentions about citroen moving from wet belt to wet timing chain on their engine..I am confused while looking at the citroen basalt maintenance manual (which is the latest offering of citroen and assuming it jas the latest details) on which it says for Naturally Aspirated engine there is timing belt on page 28 (ds-prod.citroen.in/static-assets/ds-static/s3fs-public/2024-09/Maintenance_Warranty_Booklet_CC22.pdf?WKwjkhRnN1bmHgNrsw1V5XzEMTvycSvo=) and needs to be replaced..so did citroen india replace belts only on puretech 112 and not in puretech 82 engines in India.. tgis lack of clarity or official mention about the same in citroen sites is the only stopper for me at the moment to join the citroen family before this Diwali..
Citroens are basically known for making comfortable cars, but at the cost of dynamics and body roll. For me the body roll makes me very uncomfortable even if I'm sitting in the back seat, So there is no point to emphasize its comfort. Or the type of comfort it offered sounds good to only a very small amount of people. I love tata in that regard for making perfectly balanced cars, they are comfortable and best handlers among other cars.
This engine is a gem 💎 But any clue if the puretech engine issue of the wet timing belt (immersed in engine oil) is solved or not. It had caused issues in the past. Please clarify.
It seems to have been solved with new piston rings, new belt/chain (I am not sure if we have the chain on the Basalt as it has not been generalized to all models). Moreover, the maintenance intervals are much shorter in India (I think 10,000km/1 year max, vs 20,000km/ no time limit in Europe): so the oil will remain cleaner, the oil consumption should not affect the engine so much, and the mechanics will see if there is a belt degradation. In any case, if you check the oil level and the condition of the timing belt (which is easy by just opening the oil filler cap), you should be safe.
Citroën does not manufacture wet timing belt engines for their turbocharged 1.2 litre models any more. Unfortunately, the chain and toothed-wheel used for the engine is pretty narrow in relation to other engines. No idea about the timing chain change intervals, but it should last you at least 1,50,000km, and if not they have to go back to the drawing board.
It's a good car no doubt but for the money that one pays for the top variant we definitely deserve better interior quality, and the exterior doesn't wow for a new car. I saw one in flesh , and it looked like it's an old car, the paint quality is not the same as VW or even Mahindra. (Not gonna say Tata because even though the paint is definitely better but there are so many problems with the quality of application with Tata and I have a personal experience with it) I see this because I own a Tata altroz iturbo and a polo 1l tsi, and both of their interior and exterior are much higher quality(minus the defects on Tata with the quality of paint is good). I AM EAGERLY WAITING ON MAHINDRA - VW PRODUCT AS THEY HAVE DONE SOME SORT OF AGREEMENT.(not into buying Skoda sub four meter)
