I think the dad is not against their relationship cuz of the status...Its that due to Seo Dae Young's lack of proper education he cannot be promoted to a higher position and will always have to go off to fight. He will always be front line and have high chances of dying. So the risk of his daughter ending up a widow while young is very high. That's why he wanted Yoo ShiJin as son-in-law cuz he will very well end up being promoted to high levels where he will not have to fight in the front line.
I think I understand her, like she does like him and she did gave it a shot at first with him, but then him leaving her behind on dates, the secrecy of his job....she knows she won't handle it, she thinks they won't last with him not being there for her or she'll be left behind if something happens to him then how is she supposed to keep up after falling for him that hard so she tries to stop herself before she gets in too deep.... But then as time goes she developed strong feelings yet she's still scared of their future and his dangerous work... Hope just her feelings are strong enough to get ride of her worries.
I really love that the show isn't only about the two couples but there are a bunch of interesting characters, like Daniel, the soldiers and the medical staff. I really like the story of doctor Lee. He is a junior doctor who has aldready seen some stuff when he was working at the hospital but in Urk, it's another reality and him going through a lot of hard moments and questioning what is the meaning of being a doctor is really interesting. I really like his character and how he was written. He firstly appeared as an immature, silly and rich boy who is just there as a comedic and cute character. And now, he really go through an evolution, he collapsed when he couldn't save a man, connected with a pregnant lady after the earthquake. Watching him broken because he feels he has failed his patient is a painful but necessary journey to become the doctor he wants to be. Mo yeon is the main doctor of the show and she has to make important decisions regarding her job but I connect much more with his journey. Thanks for the reaction !

They did get married in real life. They fell in love during the filming of DOTS then got married after it ended...but they got divorced I think after 2 years of marriage
