This jacket is awesome. I've got an insulated version. The fit is just right, comfy enought to put smth underneath. The only missing thing is the interior pocket. I tested it in a heavy rain and it didn't disappoint me. A little bit of moisture came inside my pockets, but not too much.

Just bought myself and got a good deal on a Mammut Masao HS hooded jacket. Have bought North Face, Berghaus etc. over the years but never last that long. The Mammut is built to last, rugged, fully waterproof, breathable and will last for years. Hope the North Face does the job Simon - really like your videos. Cheers for the review mate, very handy and helped me buy one this morning, good in-depth review, few points though- to say the jacket is too heavy for long hikes is a ridiculous thing to say, of course it ain’t, you can see it’s not, it’s hardly a soaking wet wooly trench coat is it!! And secondly with these modern materials they absolutely can and do keep you dry while ventilated, it’s to do with the minuscule size of the perforations in the fabric that allow sweat to escape but are too small for rain particles to be allowed the other way, these materials have been around for years now, I think berghaus were the pioneers but not sure, you could easily have found this info out before seeming very pessimistic about the fact they are breathable and also waterproof, anyway cheers for the video, definitely the best review of the TNF Quest jacket 👍🏻

Hi Simon, I'm wondering if the Quest jacket is windproof and warm enough for the temperature of about 10 to 25°C in the summer because I'm still considering between the Antora and the Quest jacket. I saw the specifications on The North Face website about the waterproof on both jacket Quest and Antora but they didn't say anything about the windproof in the Quest jacket. I want a jacket that is warm enough for me on rainy days with temperatures around 10 to 15°C and that doesn't get too hot on sunny days, the average temperature is around 20 to 25°C. Nice one Simon, I also bit the bullet and went for a proper waterproof jacket. I went for the Jack Wolfskin JW pack hard shell, in the same colour as yours funnily enough. It got a thorough testing in the peaks last week and it was a game changer for the whole experience, bone dry underneath! Have you got waterproof trousers yet?
Well done on nearly hitting the big 1k subs, you'll hit that tonight with a bit of luck 🙂👍

Hi Shaun, I’ve got some decent Berghaus waterproof trousers yeah, they have been great. It’s uncomfortable when wet so I get where you’re coming from. I’m looking forward to giving them a spin in the field! Take care mate and yes nearly there! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I had a heavyweight north face rain jacket it was fantastic I threw it away after 10 years just because I was sick of the sight of it. Just bought a montane minimus jacket which seems ok. I have also just bought a second hand paramo pajero for winter walking. I do really rate north face.

Reassuring thanks Jamie, this should last for some time hopefully. I'm a huge fan of Montane more recently they make some great items. I have never tried Paramo. Thanks for the comment mate and for watching

No I’ve never tried paramo that’s why I went second hand as there a lot of mixed reviews.

I see, I advocate that approach. Lots of second hand gear!

Hi Meryl, it fits well in the brain / top lid of my backpack if I'm not wearing it. Are you thinking of getting one? Si

    Amateur clown.
You've "truly demonstrated its quality" with that amount of water....
Cause yes, we buy theNorthFace waterproof shell jackets for little rains like a 0.5L of water drop.
