Thanks for the comparison...especially the comparison. I've been looking at them for a while. You mention those connectors: LiteGear would do well selecting a off the shelf industrial screw connector (please LiteGear, don't do what Kino did and design your own connectors). Seems like the Litemat also gives a bit more punch.
Fanjan thanks for watching dude. Yeah I think Lite gear just released a new version of this light with better connectors. We asked, they listened! I much more prefer these than my old kinos, but the form factor of kinos is useful as well. Sometimes u just need a tubular light that you can wedge into tight spaces - LiteMats can't quite do that as well as Kinos can. All in all, I'm really happy with these lights and lots of DP'S keep hiring me because I own them. CHEERS! Tom Instagram: @MastershotFilms
And to think Kino wants us to buy the Tegra system! I'm pretty blown away by these. My gaffer has been suggesting them for a few years. I may just need to purchase a set. Any suggestion on which size to get to most closely replicate the size/spread of the kino flo 4 bank?
Bauer Films Hey Dude! Not that I know of- I work here in NYC and I have not seen any out in the wild, but I keep hearing rumors from other G&E folks that LiteMats is planning to launch an RGB version of the LiteMat. As soon as they release one, I'll hopefully get my hands on one and shoot a review. Thanks for watching my @LiteGear litemats review Tom
I know this is a silly question, but when you are filming on location , how can you tape it to the ceiling? Will it not take all the paint away from the ceiling?

tHANKS FOR WATCHING, DUDE. THE MAIN DIFF ARE THE NUMBER OF LED'S & OUTPUT. THE S2 PUTS OUT MORE LIGHT DUE TO THE GREATER NUMBER OF LEDS. THERE IS A NEWER VERSION NOW THAT HAS A V-MOUNT OR GOLD-MOUNT BATTERY MOUNT BUILT INTO THE BACK OF THE UNIT. THERE ARE ALSO NEW CONNECTORS, THANK GOD. Ok thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I see the connectors are improved, which might be worth the extra $700 alone, but I think the extra output is only equivalent to an extra 1/2 stop? If that's true I don't think the extra output is worth the price, but I suppose I will have to figure out if the connector improvement is worth the cost long term because I've already worked with the old version and had loose connection issues. If you have any opinion let me know, thanks so much for your help!
Thanks for the review. I've been looking for LED "Kino Flo" type of lights and these seem to be pretty reliable. Question, would you happen to know what's the CRI on them? Thanks in advance. Great Day!!
Nic Conner Images - NCIFP They are >95 and their CRI remains constant throughout the life of the LED Bulbs. The old traditional Kino Flo tubes would have a major color shift over the course of the bulbs lifetime. I found myself replacing bulbs every 3-4 months
TOM! Great video, man, thanks a lot. Hope to see you soon

Be sure to use paper tape and NOT gaffers tape. Gaff tape will peel the paint right off the wall.
I learned my lesson putting gaffers tape on the wall. Lol
good stuff man. keep it up.. subscribed! :)

Thanks Roy. I'll be sharing a bunch of videos in the coming months.
