@@OnlineBassCourses I would really love to get deeper into scales. Can you maybe do video about them? How they work? Why do they work? What is the theory behind them?
Soaking this up like a sponge. I've been teaching drums for 30 years and I love your teaching approach. I just bought all 5 of your books today. Can't wait to dig into them.
Just dropping an appreciation comment here. I'm learning TONS from your youtube channel, thank you SO much, for such informative, inspiring, and CLEARLY explained content. All presented in a relaxing manner that makes it all so enjoyable.
If I can add a suggestion for a lesson, I find it makes a world of difference when one successfully ends a phrase on a note that really feels right. Something about cadences maybe? Is that a concept that applies to phrasing on bass and/or on bass-line building? The idea of targeting a good note that propels to the next phrase' beginning note? Hopefully I gave a useful suggestion here. Thank you again for all the lessons!
Good idea. Landing on chord tones often results in a pleasing sound. No surprise as your melody note fits directly with the chord. That’s a good rule of thumb - target chord tones.
My english is not very good because I'm a french bass player but I love your videos. It's clear and very interesting. Your explanations are very god. Thanks for your work.
30minutes of gold, thanks Daniel, I'd suggest to close the ring for this and the previous video with a rythmic part, always on bass of course. That roadstar is really shining on this track. F
I have been following you for a little more than a year now. That is when I started my journey learning the electric bass. I am a “sub” and a patron of your lessons. I have learned quite a bit and continue to, but I really do appreciate your approach. You come across as calm and friendly in these vids, and it makes it so nice to watch whilst learning. I know I have pointed out the obvious and that these things have been mentioned before but I cannot thank you enough. Regards, Adam
Loving this video Dan. Your format of fundamentals review, followed by real application of the ideas, followed by applying the information to creativity really helps me with my mindset to practice and approaching soloing when live.
Coming on Saturday! In that lesson I mention that I don’t have a clue about the different pedals (sorry…). Check their website. I’d imagine it’s more control over the loops and more recording time etc. basically just better and more features. Mine is very simple but ok for now.
Hey Dan, hope you're having a great weekend. Just started the video - is that a bit of reverb you're using? If so, how are you generating it? Sounds great.
I’m a new watcher. I love your content. I might be an intermediate player at best. I am just learning how to use scales in my playing. I’m a converted guitar player and a self taught bass player. Which basically means I don’t know what l am doing but I love to play.
Complete novice in the effects dept. but I love what you are using. Reminiscent of Mark Egan in the early Metheny Group days. Are you using the CLA Waves bass or guitar plug in? These look dirt cheap. Is this only used for recording? Can I simply plug my bass into this?
I'm considering joining your bass courses mr. Dan. I have a question to ask: What do you think about bass players using letter stickers on the fret board?
Thanks, Jose. I’m not a fan personally as it becomes too much of a crutch. Search ‘notes’ on my channel. I have a few lessons that will show you how to learn the fretboard the proper way. Once you see the patterns, it’s actually very logical and easy.
@@luismorales9568 Nothing that I've seen, heard or played. There's something about old basses. I must say, the pickups are new though. Plus there are effects on this video so you can get a similar sound with a PJ bass with old-ish stainless steel strings like mine (Elites Players 45-105).
You have some of the best bass lesson vids on UA-cam. Being self taught can be really hard, so I’m so grateful.
Thank you. If you have any other lesson ideas, do let me know. 👍

@@hreziol already done loads! Best thing would be to check out my theory playlist on UA-cam and find a few lessons to watch.
That bend at about 37sec tho! SMOOOOOOTH!
😂 thanks!

Dan the man 100k here you come!! Well deserved whenever it happens and it will
That’s very kind - thanks! Wouldn’t mind a bit of 100k action…
Thank you for such great info, I've been learning theory on my own for a bit but couldn't find anything good for soloing before you
Glad it helped you! 🙏
Thanks! I've found playing scale fragments helps develop solos.
Definitely 👍
Thanks Dan, lots of excellent material to learn from!
Thanks, Rajesh!
Шикарно!
I don’t know if you still have a channel but your a very good instructor.
Thanks very much! I hope I still have a channel - where’s it gone???
An absolutely amazing lesson, thank you.

Good lesson 👏
Excellent lesson Dan.
A lot of useful information to gain skills in becoming a better musician on this wonderful instrument.
Thank you
Thanks. It sure is a wonderful instrument!
What a great lesson! Sounds like music by Air.
Thanks. Great band!
I can't wait for the loop pedal lesson. I'm looking at Ditto pedals now and was wondering what one to get. They have a Ditto + or a Ditto 4x?

Hello Dan, what model of Ibanez that bass is? Thanks.

Dan, do you have any other old Ibanez basses?
I do actually, yes. I have an early 80’s Musician which I love. I’ll reveal it soon…

Do you have a lesson on how you pluck/strum your chords? I notice you using three fingers.
