i come back to this every cpl days, you just do not understand how much i appreciate you 😫🥹🥹 through you, we’re able to discover these hidden gems. thank you for being so kind also & not gatekeeping your amazing collection!!
I wonder what didn't click for him to get signed. Jon B wasn't quite in the scene yet so it wasn't like he was going to be a run-of-the-mill white singer. Maybe with some better material he could've pushed through and got signed.
They weren't ready for a dude that looks like he was in a Sinaloense Banda Mexican band that sounds like Eric Gable. Stupid industry. He could have been the Latino Michael Bolton! If Jellybean had his HOLA Recordings paperwork together a few years earlier, he would have most definitely signed this cat. Sounds almost as bad as Nesto Valasquez's career that succumbed to Christopher Williams being prioritized over him becuase Nesto wasn't Black and Andre Harrell was. Ironically, Harrell thought Christopher Williams was too "light bright" to be promoted over Jodeci and Mary J Blige at the same token. Crazay. Maybe that karma is what put Harrell down?
I bought it for $80 on Discogs. There was one more copy in stock. As for his whereabouts, I searched for him on WhitePages and Ancestry just to figure where he's at currently ever since he's retired. Closest I could find is that he may be living up north in like Iowa or Michigan, at least in reference to those related to him or close to the spelling of his last name. Let's just hope he's alive, well and living quietly away from all the madness that runs rampant in the music industry.
Giant Records should have pulled a "New Edition firmware upgrade update" and should have pulled this guy into Color Me Badd to sing co-lead with Bryan Abrams like MCA did with Johnny Gill. That would have been menacing in the best way ever.
I love your channel! I would like to ask if you had Earth Wind & Fire's "Let Me Love You" (Feat. Floetry). It was a bonus track on their 2005 album "Illumination" and I can't find it anywhere online. Thank you so much.
It’s impressive how you find these rare records 😮 Do you have Love Or The Single Life by Modest Fok? Debra Killings was in this band back in the day and they only released this album
No. TWo things: 1) this cat sounds like Eric Gable more than C-Dub/Christopher Williams. 2) Christopher Williams I believe got his style from his former protégés the late Robert Brookins and Alton Wokie Stewart.

A lot of the times those who have retired from the music industry and live private lives under the radar for obvious reasons.
Ouuu I am in love with his voice and these song selections! Thank you for posting this🤩🤩🎵🎵🎤🎧
The backgrounds on the first song sounds like something that would be sampled today

He sounds a lot like the love child of ERic Gable, Johnny Gill, and Christopher Williams with a side of tripe carne de res tacos.
