The drummer is younger. I heard he's a newer member than the other two. He looks like maybe in his 40's. These guys have been around for 33 years and have like 23 albums. They were asking to finally have success in this song and they did. This is their first big international hit. DId their first ever European tour before Corona. Awesome story. They sound so much like Black Sabbath at times.
The timeline of members is on the wikipedia page, there's been 5 different drummers, but the current guy has been in the band much longer than the previous drummers - he joined in 2004. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ningen_Isu They're all a very similar age, born in 1965-66

Check out Namahage by them next. Been a band for 30 plus years, but only recently got some more recognition because youtube's algorithm kept recommending this song to people for some reason. This song was definitely about that, they always did well enough to live if they had day jobs, but never actually big enough. The singer also lost a marriage because of his musician lifestyle I believe. So how fitting that it was this song that got them this late surge of popularity. Really an example of persistence paying off. They just got their first little tour in Europe and were going to be at south by southwest before covid ended that. Also, amazing that I think they've been making some of their best music this past 5 years. Most bands, even the greats, tend to lose it one way or the other before their first decade into being a band.
You young guys forget that somebody wrote and played those classics and some of those people are still around. These guys are about the ages of the guys in Metallica. Their backstory will be appreciated by anyone in the business. Grinding it out for 30 years. Regular Joe jobs during the week, gigging on the weekends. Never giving up. Then, one day, the YT algorithm hits. You should see their live stuff. 30 years of practice turns into one hell of a show.

They continued to record and tour as they could, while working regular jobs to make ends meet. They have over 20 records now. In 2013, they were invited to play at Ozzfest Tokyo, and their popularity jumped back up. They were able to quit their jobs and go full time in music again. Their 2019 album Shin Seinen was their biggest album ever. They toured outside Japan for the first time in 2019. Germany and London. All this success in their 50's at long last. I believe scat comes from jazz, and the thing about it is to become one more instrument within the band. Its all about being virtous with the tone, the pitch, volumen, rithm, notes attack and some times velocity. Its difficulty is similar to a guitar solo but using your own voice
Ningen Isu is amazing, these older gentlemen rock harder than most American bands half their age, sucks that we live in a world where real talent like this gets overlooked yet stupid talent less hacks like Billie Ellish get' all the praise.
An fyi. the u in Isu isn't pronounced. It's eece=Is. That's how the guitarist said it in an interview. Oh and this band has been around for like 3 decades. They weren't mainstream though. They were more in the metal underground in Japan.
I am a classically trained singer and I cannot improvise scatting no way in hell. That is a high level of talent. Not to mention from a writing standpoint, knowing when to use it for the proper emotional effect. The “lululu...” part in this song in the place of part of the bridge(I think?) is used there because the lead singer says he thinks that there are some feelings so intense that you can’t even put them to words, and it just becomes a nonsensical sound from the heart.
Try reacting to a group called BRIDEAR and the song titled LIGHT IN THE DARK. They are another all girl band from JAPAN, so you know you cant go wrong. With a dual guitar intro and a dual guitar solo, these girls rock. Also there is a special GROWL affect in the song as well, enjoy.

I recommend starting with Vinushka, then something like Diabolos, Amon, Different Sense but be sure to get to their masterpiece Macabre (at Tubula Rasa). Get the version with the lyrics and pay attention to the visuals. Also, J Rock should include some Maximum the Hormone songs as well. Glad you guys do this. Hope I get enough thumbs up that you consider Dir En Grey.

Guys, I will tell you a story... In the early nineties I was a so called rock star and I traveled to Japan... The most confusing country in the world... I stayed there because I had a thing with a famous porn star, she was 19 and I was 30.. and officially porn and prostitution did not exist... Hard Rock was the most popular form of music but did not exist officially... It was a culture of shame, but everything goes... I loved Japan, still do... And there is so much beautiful metal over there! I remember this band from back then...
I watched someone react to this the other night and straight fell in love with it, so when I saw my 2 favorite things come together Rappers who are reactors who react to a genra they don't produce and I saw that you were reacting to this song I had to click and I wasn't disappointed, more over I actually learned something and came out of this with the same questions you were asking and thinking in the reaction! I subbed, hit the bell, liked the video and am leaving a comment to thank you and let ya know I can't wait to blow through all your other reactions and can't wait for more of them. One question, and I will go look but have you two reacted to any Falling in Reverse? If not you should, my advice is react to at least 12 different songs because Ronnie does a little bit of everything in his music and you can't get a feel for his style off of less then a dozen songs plus Ronnie is a great guy who treats his fans better then just about any artist I have ever heard of. He is a hugely popular streamer on Twitch as well and reacts to things as well as plays video games and chat with his Twitch community and has some incredible give aways because he really does love 95% of the people who stop by his Twitch streams. That other 5% are the ones who say negative, sexual, political shit or are causing issues repeatedly and it is always a good time to hear him ban them and then explain why they got banned. Someone told him to take his shirt off one time and he banned them in the blink of an eye and when he explained why it was the most logical thing in the world and although he was upset he was able to keep is cool well explaining that men historically get in all sorts of issues because they say things like that to a women and it is no different when it is said to a man, we need to stop having double standerds and realize if we want equality we all need to act like it, if its wrong for a guy to say or do something it's the same for a girl. If a woman would get upset when a man said something then we as men need to do the same because we really are all humans and we do need to come together and not allow one sex to do or say something the other sex can't because it's how we have allowed cancle culture to exist and much of how man have historically acted is why we are seeing so many issues tody. That was the gist of what he was saying and it made so much sense to me because he was right we need to learn as men and women where to draw that line, many women do but very few men ever even realize they shouldn't allow some of the things we do and we need to be better as men to not treat others the way we do of both sexes. At 1st when Ronnie was talking I was kinda taken it back, like ? Really blocked for saying he should take his shirt off? I've seen much much worse said on different streams and the guys usually laugh about it and usually they'll take it even further and be making jokes that made me shake my head and usually quit watching but when he started to explain it made so much sense, he wasn't being crazy infact quite the opposite, others are crazy and that is why we see the issues we do in today's day and age. We've gotta be better at learning to draw a line and never let others cross it.
They where retiring last year after 40 years (i think) of rocking it but reaction videos blew them up internationally. Before this they never toured outside of Japan to my knowledge.

If you want to see talented scatting, look up Scatman by Scatman John. Ningen Isu has been around since the 80s or 70s apparently. The name of the band means something like 'human chair'? It's from an old Japanese horror story about a man's letters to a woman about how he builds furniture and hides inside of it, and at the end reveals that he's been inside of a chair that she's been using.

I've never tasted the nectar of victory
I’ve never succeeded in love
Will the day come when I can get intoxicated by the victory?
Will the day come when I can embrace love?
Tell me, Divine Goddess
Shabadabadia
Shabadabadia
Babababa
Shabadabadia
Shabadabadia
Babababa
Countless stars are twinkling in the sky
Every one of us is under them
With a thousand wishes in each heart
Lululu Lululu
If you, Lord Buddha, really exist in some place
Please have mercy on me, too
Having nothing precious in my possession
Desolated
Isolated
I've been living my life with a series of failures
Will the day come when I can totally be satisfied?
Will the day come when my dreams come true?
Tell me, Lord Buddha
Shabadabadia
Shabadabadia
Babababa
Shabadabadia
Shabadabadia
Babababa
Shine a light on my life
Shine a light on my future
Shine a light on every creature
Shine a light on tomorrow for all.
as far as rhyming in japanese goes, each letter ends in 1 of 5 vowel sounds (A, I, U , E, O) so its alot easier to rhyme in japanese than in english
There's a couple more songs (at least) from these guys you two should check out... Namahage (ua-cam.com/video/CLoUY1kA4ZY/v-deo.html) and The Colour out of Space (ua-cam.com/video/1JY89ZxVqEg/v-deo.html) which is based on a story by H. P. Lovecraft. edit: I can think of at least one heavyset drummer, the guy in Finntroll (ua-cam.com/video/GclKDei5hHU/v-deo.html)
the drummer of fintroll seems to be fit : ua-cam.com/video/YN7wKgeYntc/v-deo.html
Finally someone who turned on the subtitles, great work.
An fyi. the u in Isu isn't pronounced. It's eece=Is. That's how the guitarist said it in an interview. Oh and this band has been around for like 3 decades. They weren't mainstream though. They were more in the metal underground in Japan.
It's a devoiced high back unrounded vowel. Devoiced vowels can be difficult to hear, but they're not absent.
Love you guys my ATL bros! I honestly just saw this and it has blown my freaking mind!
If you want Pirate Metal: either Storm Seeker- The Longing, or Alestorm- Drink.
If you want more Viking Chants: either Skald- Run, or Wardruna- Gra.
“This guy has taken one too many of his blood pressure medication this morning” 😂
The guitarist and bass-player is born 1965. 1 year younger than me....Next song form Ningen Isu (hard G) Life for sale ( English subtitle) This song is sort of prayer of success. What happened? This video got viral... and they did their first tour abroad. 2 gigs in Germany and 1 in Britain... and then corona came along before they had the chance to play in the states.....they had a gig booked in the states.... Oh when this corona is over..... the concerts gonna explode :-)
These guys are in the same age group as Tool. They have been kicking major ass for decades, need to dig into their catalogue.
Epic.
I refer to these guys as 'Jiji' (Japanese for Elder/Grandfather) (he actually dresses like a 19th century Calligrapher in Edo(Tokyo)Japanese Elvis and yeah...Uncle Fester(dressed as a Shinto Priest)...or because of their longevity Japan's Rush...😉😁
We need another Mastodon reaction dudes, I say do an old one and try out Hearts Alive! It's off the Leviathan album which is about Moby Dick.
Will do
@@Hollywood6IX especially since they are fellow Georgians...heck y'all just need a day set aside for various Georgia acts...B-52's, REM, Indigo Girls, Little Richard and so many more...
Regarding jacked drummers. Japan is full of female drummers!
LOL- Mr Miagi, Uncle Fester and Honky Tonk Man. I loved the comments.
I've posted a few times, that if you're going down the J Rock rabbit hole you MUST MUST try Dir En Grey. They will blow you away.
It's time, it's time, its......Gene Hoglan Time. I heartily recommend Detox from Stapping Young Lad, Devin Townsend's old band.
I'm glad you dug this one.
Pink Floyd Great gig in the sky song with no words it's about the transition between living and dying
Digging the Bloodywood in the background before the song begins. They led me here.
Shout out to the comments section for suggesting great songs to these guys so I can then get to experience the songs and reactors.
Smokey Ramirez: Drummers are usually jacked.
Akane: Hold my Ramen bowl....
Junna & Haruna: Yeah, you show him!
I don't think any of those three fantastic drummers are more than 4'10" or above 90 pounds... But they are in shape, that's for sure!
Six String Ninja
Famous scat singers are Dizzy Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald, Sammy Davis Jr, Bing Crosby and Louis Armstrong so yes it's a talent!
I ran across ningen awhile back, who knew the Japanese could rock heavy metal.their great.
Don't understand a single word and it's awesome.
that's the power of music!!
& I agree it's a powerful song, have tons more to say just not sure how to put it . ...so I'll just leave it for when the time is right
also I DO believe there is a God, tryin to live my life accordingly but it's hard sometimes
also also lyrics don't have to rhyme to be good, feel like that's a RAP focused deal
For a request anything OPETH
Thanks guys for liking it.
They have been around since 1986. They won a talent show and took off from there.
Bad religion had a "big boy" drummer back in the late nineties, saw them at the 98 warped tour, hella good.
人間椅子を聴いてくれてありがとう✨
貴方達の会話が日本語字幕でもあればもっと楽しめたと思います😊
they been around since 1987
Remember that, Yoko Ono, great gig in the sky
They are a great band, a regular goto while I'm at work
Guys, I will tell you a story...
Have these guys done alien weaponry yet?
We have
@@Hollywood6IX Ill have to check that out. Your catalog is getting deep my friends.
That dog though. lol
Bro I mentioned this like months ago
You sure did....but twisted insane was a good choice by you as well
So is scat a "Lyrical" Talent may be debatable however you can not argue that it is definitely a "Musical" Talent
Same band check out The Colour out Of Space. Another great tune from them.
You may be thinking of Pantera. The drummer, Vinnie Paul, was heavyset.
This sounds like if Black Sabbath recorded an opening theme for an anime series. Which is amazing.
You guys gotta check out Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas "Let Me Hear" and some of The Pillows catalog for some awesome Japanese music.
Please react to "Another Life" by Motionless In White.
Now I’ve seen it all... freaking amazing!
They where retiring last year after 40 years (i think) of rocking it but reaction videos blew them up internationally. Before this they never toured outside of Japan to my knowledge.
If ya want to hear some more ningen isu, take a listen to "hellish mirror" and "hell's mountain of needles". I saw these guys years ago when I was stationed in Japan
Japanese Uncle Fester is shredding it
the oldest member is 55 (guitarrist/vocalist born 1965) and the other two are 54 (basist and drummer both born 1966)
Cowboy Mouth is a band with a big drummer, he's also the lead singer, they had a pretty big song back in the 90s called Jenny Says that I'd recommend you to check out.
Hahaha:) you guys seems chilled. Im a bloodfan of Ningen Isu😎 its progmetal from another dimension!
Boston from the 70s... their drummer was a hefty guy.
gene hoglan he's a beast and he is a big dude.
fear factory- powershifter is a good example.
Beat me to it 😊. But yeah, he's a top-tier death metal drummer, and is straight up huge (last I checked, hopefully he gets a bit more healthy 😢)
now you guys need to listen to scat man john lol
red fang - prehistoric dog, you guys will dig that video for sure!!
Guys, what took you so long? Here's another new name for you, I hadn't heard of these until a few hours ago ua-cam.com/video/4CEqyuem3mA/v-deo.html
