Turns out the Gunbreaker was hammered, too! And that was probably the best goddamn run of Stone Vigil Hard I've ever done! No one died, we all got through the canons the first go... It was great!

I have a confession: I can become nacroleptic when I'm doing content on repeat, and there was this one time where I was with two friends and one stranger, and I fell asleep in the middle of a leveling run in The Vault, and I woke up to find myself suddenly already outside of the instance. The worst part? I was the tank
The "20 deaths post" reminded me of my 43 rezzes in Bunker... with just my party mind you and it wasnt just one dude it was everyone besides my co healer who also rezzed like 20-ish times.... the end of SHB was sure something.
My job as a gunbreaker is to have the gravitational pull of the SUN. I love dps that bring me more bois to bully. Sadly, when someone else pulls, its typically a mentor who runs away with my pack immediately even though im going full throttle.
I was helping teach my fc the newest unreal lately and one of our first ever pull to enrage was to an enrage at 44% because we had 28 deaths in a single pull. I have not laughed that hard in a while and seeing my fc slip and slide or fly off the map every time made my stomach hurt from laughing. We got our clear the next week but ever week with them is always filled with so many laughs and silly deaths
I once had a DRK in expert roulette (With me as healer) that pulled EVERYTHING and then proceeded to instantly die. Got mad at me cause I couldn't keep him up and when I told him to not be afraid to use living dead since it had just been buffed, he said, and I quote: "Living dead is for raids" ????? what? he proceeded to leave so I couldn't ask for an explanation. 🤷♂

Might be a controversial take so let me preface by saying I personally have no problem having DPS pull ahead of me. Especially if I'm in a lower level dungeon and have no gap closer. However, there are 2 points I never seen brought up when it comes to this topic. 1.) The assumption the tank still has mits up for a huge pull. You should space them out obviously, but some newer tanks don't. 2.) That the healer can heal through the pull. I've personally slowed my pace because a healer has a hard time even through mitigation, and invulns. One time I had to ask to slow down because of this, but the DPS continued to pull despite us wiping twice. I apologized to the healer afterwards because they were newer.
As a WHM main, I don’t remember if there are any hard to heal dungeons in the game anymore. A few ARR dungeons can be tricky due to low potency, but otherwise what is that tank on about?
SHB was a nut check on the tank and healer. Endwalker dungeons are just tanky af sponges and put pressure on DPS to get shit done before everyone dies of old age.
I'm only at HW at the moment but I'd say Aurum Vale is definitely the skill check dungeon for new healers, at least the start of the dungeon. More experienced healers have no problem with it, but running it the first time is pure stress as a new healer.

It was so hard that people 4 out of 6 times would quit as soon as they loaded into the dungeon because they didn’t want to deal with it. I wish they would...just remove the toggle of that now it's stupidly pointless now since we have "shirk" and "Provoke" I don't think it comes up enough ever to even have it as a "fuck up toggle" that legit turns off commonly in certain scenarios or w/e. Or ya know...maybe make it back to a Aggro gain + DEF mode and toggle to a Small DPS + Mini heal? hell if I know but, it's not very useful thing to leave on Tanks at all. Should be on I think 99% of the time period.
I once queued as a Healer for expert runs. It took us 15 min to kill the first boss of the newest dungeon. The two DPS took every mechanic to the point were they would've been better off standing still. They also didn't do much damage... I dipped that shit after the boss, not going to do a 60 min run.
...fair point it kinda does. THough the solution for them is a toggle. I woulda kindly paused that damn dungeon and told them the way to turn it off for VEF of themselves. ...I do kinda wish SE would work on a bit more things like this for players with light sensitivity issues especially to certain colors. But yeah...I get the pain the other way...
I doing 3am aurum vale on leveling roulette doing dps, the tank (paladin) and other dps are new, english is not their first language and the tank has never done tanking before in other games and is still learning. He starts pulling in the first room, I gently prod him to stick to the sides to avoid aggroing everything in the room since he was running middle (he quickly picks up on this and does so) healer LEAVES after we wipe because he is not used to tanking and died a couple times from accidentally pulling too hard or not understanding some of his skills quite yet (again still learning and aurum is hard for first timer tanks) Healer was fuming before they left (I tried to de-escalate reminding them that they were new and that we all learn) was 10+ mins before a new healer came in to replace them. Story ends wholesomely with me and the new healer giving tips and encouraging them to learn and that they were doing well, I give some tanking pointers for paladin and the healer tells them not to worry as they are there to keep them healed and safe.
I found a tank that didn't use their AOE Combo in a level 80 story Dungeon. That shit was ANNOYING AS HELL, and felt like it to I still have no idea how we managed to get through it me and the DPS wound up taking mobs because of this and we did party wipe a few times
That first one encapsulates my entire existence.. For some reason, I consistently always have to do everything in my power and often still fail to keep specifically Warriors alive. All other tanks (Yes, even Dark Knight) go just fine. No issues there. For some reason though, Warriors just feel like they were designed specifically to die faster than you can possibly save them. Haven't been able to take that class seriously since Heavensward, and I still can't, for the diffrences seem negligible, which saddens me deeply after that whole story quest for Scholar being about how fantastically they supposedly pair with Warrior. The only things that pair with the Warriors I get are Carpenters to carve their coffins >

Set up a Party Finder! "Chill slow run" it'll fill and you'll get your roulettes done no problem. Might even make some friends while waiting for it to fill! if you go in with randos anyway, set up a chat macro explaining it (esp if it's a physical issue) and some groups will probably be just fine with it and it might open up conversation that'll help you improve and have more fun with the role. Some groups won't be, and you'll either adjust to how the group prefers to play (because it's a *team game* and if 3/4 want to go faster then you're outvoted) or leave and set up that Party Finder. but if you silently single pull people are gonna run ahead eventually. especially at anything higher than level 60, people have aoe bursts and nobody wants to waste a whole ass Searing Light + Tech Step buffed Bahamut on 2 mobs.

I dunno that one post with the reaper, monk, paladin and scholar seems like nearly everyone in this party is fighting over the same brain cell. The tank can’t grapple the brain cell to use mitigation, the monk is clearly on the tank’s friends list with that switch to single target so no brain cell there, the reaper cant grapple the brain cell to just LEAVE, and the scholar just sits there quietly not sure what to do not even making an attempt for the poor cell. A comedy of errors and frustration.
I'm a level 20 healer and I just started, so I only have two heals at my current level, tank pulled to much and everyone died. he said sorry and I said sorry. One of the dps just suddenly says "no tank it wasn't your fault, that's a normal pull" and the tank just goes "nah, it wasn't." And the dps never spoke again

If the party doesn't move at the tanks pace or the pace of the most impatient person, that person usually starts an argument and quits because "too slow". That person is usually the healer, but every so often you get a dps with an inflated sense of self worth who needs to sit in the queue a little longer.

'cause healing also draws enmity and i can better heal and green dps without mobs biting my ankles. But in a decision between keeping tank or the dps who pulled alive, 10 out of 10 times favor towards tank.

Wanting the take to pull is a legitimate playstyke. Letting someone die and kicking them for going against the group and caus8jg trouble is not against ToS. sorry, if you pull for a tank and the tank doesnt like it. as a healer main if the tank doesnt try to save the dps i let the dps die. that shouldnt be wrong because i assume the person is playing tank because they want to choose to pace of the dungeon. i dont think its that toxic, because it should be up to the tanks discretion how many mobs they wanna take on.
playing a tank doesn’t mean you get to decide the pace of the dungeon, and just because a dps pulls a few extra mobs for you doesnt give you the right to kill them as punishment for doing so

I've only ever posted on talesfromdf once, our healer refused to cast holy because "it gave them a headache"

warriors are literally invincible and do not need heals after level 56.

There's a philosophical divide on whether or not the party goes at the tanks' pace or at the pace of the most impatient person in the party.

Wanting the take to pull is a legitimate playstyke. Letting someone die and kicking them for going against the group and caus8jg trouble is not against ToS. That's the biggest hive mind lie from that sub. If you don't discuss it afterwards and either kick or leave. Then yes it becomes against tos as you are then just repeatedly trolling and being toxic.
Also I hate how people say it's against the tos like they're abiding by the rules and then post a parse breakdown. You report cause you don't like the playstyle and the person. Not because you're upholding the tos. It's a very snitchy rat like way to get what you want.

If they don't pull. I'm leaving. I can forgive that in a Realm Reborn and Heavensward but in Shadowbringers and beyond..? Bro c'mon

sorry, if you pull for a tank and the tank doesnt like it. as a healer main if the tank doesnt try to save the dps i let the dps die. that shouldnt be wrong because i assume the person is playing tank because they want to choose to pace of the dungeon. i dont think its that toxic, because it should be up to the tanks discretion how many mobs they wanna take on.
only bad thing the tank did is not mitigate
playing a tank doesn’t mean you get to decide the pace of the dungeon, and just because a dps pulls a few extra mobs for you doesnt give you the right to kill them as punishment for doing so
@@Liffeh its not punishment im healing the tank its up to the tank if he wants to take the aggro off of the mobs that are attacking the dps. i think this also depends on the content you are doing because it really upsets me when i see people pulling for sprout tanks.
