- I’ve always been an admirer of Bremont, with their British base and heritage, gentlemanly design, and high levels of craftsmanship. But, they’ve always eluded me. Until now. As soon as they reached out, I was more than happy to check out anything they sent my way - they’d decided to send the S302, a 40mm vintage-inspired professional dive watch. I took one look and knew I’d have a good time checking it out.
Is it worth £3295? Or are you better off going Swiss for a similar price, such as Oris? Let’s find out.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the most obvious reason this makes it on a lot of people's list: the fact that it offers the ability to track a second time zone AND gives you a 60 minute timing bezel. There are very few watches in this category, especially with these dimensions.
Great review - thanks! Incredible watch and amazing craftsmanship.
Recently bought an S302 on the Sahara strap. Really pleased with it, but I have changed to a brown vintage leather strap
Bremont makes a big selection of straps, so they remind me a bit of Panerai in that you can choose a good variety of OEM straps to completely change the look of the watch - leather, rubber, sailcloth straps, etc.
That's a good looking watch. Really like the case and crown design. Just a little different, but still completely normal. Looks classy. Great review as always! All the complicated names for the components kind of made me chuckle. Love the color scheme too.
Cheers Dave!
Excellent video. Objective and well structured. Thanks and more please.
This is the first Bremont that I actually like. Love the colour combos, very classy. Thanks for sharing.
If you want something different and like a military tank...its Bremont. I own Arrow and love the build quality and style. Going in for another one the S302.
I just bought this watch from Bremont. I agree with your comments, but I like the thickness of the watch. I do love watches with a crystal glass back. I have a MKII jaguar and that is beautiful on the reverse side. I like the contrast between the black dial and bezel and the beige strap and a touch of colour on the gmt and seconds dials. im not obsessed with having internal own brand movements. The wing tour is fab.
I love the part black painted GMT hand it differentiates it from the hour hand. The case is brilliant.
I was wondering how they compare to CW. Glad you included that info.
I recently bought the Broadsword and absolutely smitten... for me the Broadsword is best looking! Definitely a fanboy...
Love my S300
Great choice!
Great review of a great watch.
Beautifully engineered watches, and it's great that they are building them in England, but at these prices I would want a full in-house movement, tudour, oris and CW are all offering in-house for less money. Hopefully bremont are developing their own movement...they would then have the complete package.
The massive difference we can't ignore is that the infrastructure is already in place in Switzerland to be able to manufacture watches and movements. Sadly, it's not the case in Britain so it'll always be much more expensive to take that jump.
Yes, but everything other than the movement is at a different level than any of the brands you've mentioned. Even the straps are of another level, if you've checked them in person. The movement is still modified, not completely off the shelf. And CW is an online brand. Costs are very different. Honestly I'd take all the Bremont upgrades, the in person shopping experience and the ability to try the watches, over an in-house movement. Plus you can get a discount on Bremont watches if you ask for it.
@@WIAAWatchReviews ....and today they launced their own movement
Really robust construction - such durable pieces with quality components - love ‘em
A nice looking piece although the price seems high. I won't be swapping it for my black bay 58 any time soon.
Can't go wring with the BB58!
Much rather this or the s301 than the bb58
Very classy looking great review 👍
It looks great, glad you liked it - thanks for watching!
Many thanks for the informative review. Cheers. 👍⌚🇬🇧
Love the case on this collection.
For this price you can get much better watches! 🤷🤦
That's exactly the watch i want - is it that good?
Lovely, but would you say it’s at least twice as good as the GMT Sealander? As that’s a BIG price difference,. I’m not knocking Bremont as your dead right the watches are top notch, and one day I aspire to own one. Perhaps pre-owned though makes more sense.
Nice watches and they’ve had amazing success. Better than Oris and give some big names a run for their money but at that price you would hope for an investment and they’re too young for that.
Good point, thanks for watching and for your comment :)
There are so many things I like about this watch, yet so many things I dislike about it.
Good:
Harden steel
Trip-Tik case
Cathedral Hands
Colour
Made in England
Bad:
Date window
Not fully marked minutes in bezel, or maybe GMT bezel would be good enough
Lack of crown guard
No dispaly caseback (Why?)
I always have a feeling that I like Bremont, but its watches have noticable design flaws that are deal breakers to me. It is a real shame as I want to own one, but their design cannot convince me for the price.
how is finishing better than Sealander other than you just saying so. I have both the Bremont seems to catch scratches just like any other steel watch and its lume and accuracy is worse than the Ward which is also a quarter of the price and also features quick release strap options?
Bremont watches are owned by a venture capitalist. Everything about them is a marketing fabrication. Aesthetically their designs are attractive but they only tart up off the shelf Sellita and ETA chronometer ebauches, which of course Tag and Breitling do too, for the same price. But they are Tag and Breitling both of whom have a rich history and can each claim an icon in the annals of horology in the Square chrono and Navitimer. Having had Wards and Bremonts there is very little between them in features, design and build quality. However, with Ward you can get their manufacture calibre 5 day chronometer in a watch that's still lower in price than the entry level Bremont. And Ward also have had other notable design achievements/firsts; notably reverse engineering a true compressor case and the latest tuckaway crown.
Value wise, you cannot ignore Ward. I wear one as a beater; it keeps Rolex accuracy, it's tough as nails, Titanium, GMT unbelievable lume and when I feel like a 1000 meter dive I don't have to take it off. Oh. and I can change straps on it in seconds and it gets plenty of admiring comments.
I like Bremont's designs. But I also like Tudor's. too. And if I buy the latter, I can save a couple of grand, with an in-house movement and, oh yeah, it's a Tudor
Does it have a true GMT?
The watch is very well constructed and cases are fantastic .The exhibition caseback models shows they also decorate the movement well , However it is an eta movement so at the price they will always have levelled at them that their watches are too expensive for what the offer . For me I have to agree, feel this is probably a grand more expensive than it should be
I bought a Vermont in Jersey about 10 years ago, it lost a minute day or more from the day I bought it. Warranty wouldn't cover it. It was rubbish.
Sounds apocryphal! There are always malevolent people spouting negativity on every watch brand vid....& car brand vid too, for that matter! I own the H1 Fury, it is astonishingly accurate (including full QC test printout with the literature.) It's maybe even up there with my BB GMT S&G which loses just 2-3 seconds per week - I like to give watches a couple of months of constant use to get a good average but the Bremont looks very much on par atm
I've never heard of Vermont watches, I'll check them out thanks!
Debating this or the BB58
I just dont like the strap it comes with.
Not bothered by movement, as long as it's good im happy.
Is it better than a black bay?
Yes. It doesn't have a truly obnoxious hour hand.
No it's not it has a standard 🙄 movement 🙄
When you can buy loads of different watches for that price .The Black Bay has in house movement enough saided
"they reached out to me"= paid advertisement for a shitter
Well this did not age well
"Why are Bremont watches good?" They aren't.
They are
