  • Valencia Spring Ranch consists of 15,542.87 +/- deeded acres, 1,640 New Mexico State Lease acres, 120 BLM Lease acres and 878 +/- Private Lease acres. 640 acres of the deeded land lies west of the main ranch approximately 1.25 miles. The ranch is located in the eastern part of historic Guadalupe County. The ranch lies east of Luciano Mesa and west of the Pecos River. Arroyo Copita traverses the far eastern portion of the ranch on a southwestern destination with Valencia Spring surfacing in the Arroyo. Valencia Spring has been a haven for humans, wildlife and plants for years as evidenced by the ruins, towering cottonwoods and wildlife tracks around the spring.
    WILDLIFE AND HUNTING: The ranch harvested 7 pronghorn antelope last year. Complementing the antelope hunting is mule deer, turkey, quail and other wildlife.
    RANCH WATER RESOURCES: The ranch has an above average water supply with 18 wells and Valencia Spring. 15 windmills, 4 subs on Farmers Electric Coop, 1 solar and 1 generator powered (3 wells share a windmill & another pump). There are also several dirt tanks located throughout the ranch along with 3 twenty foot steel water troughs.
    TERRAIN, GRASSES, CATTLE GRAZING, ELEVATION: This 18,340 acre ranch is located in the reputation grazing country of eastern Guadalupe County with gently rolling grama grass hills and several wide draws. The Copita Arroyo with Valencia Spring provides a break in the topography and excellent habitat for deer. The grama grass turf is excellent and shows good management with few invasive species. Elevations range from 4,740 to 5,120 feet.
    Fencing on the ranch is good with a small amount of new fencing. Access to the ranch is excellent with HWY 156 frontage and good roads throughout the ranch.
    HEADQUARTERS, HOME and BUNK HOUSE: The Headquarters of the ranch includes a very nice owner’s home, a bunk house for hunters/guests and a foreman’s home. Other improvements at the HQ include a horse/hay barn, a Quonset barn w/ tack room and a shop.
