    Helen, thanks so much for sharing all this. As a struggling/blocked "aspiring" novelist myself, I find it difficult to grasp that I'm actually in the same boat as everyone else. You are so organized (and your office is gorgeous) and hard-working, but you are REAL, and share your trials and fears as well, but in a positive way, like "I'm going to climb this mountain, I don't care how steep the path." I'm binging your blog and videos, and hopefully I'll manage to re-spark the journey for myself.

    You are awesome. You put it out there--where you are going, where you are at, where you want to be, how you are going to reach your goal. Very inspirational! Thank you so much for doing these videos.

    I just found this video through Pinterest and I’m attempting to write my first novel 😬 I started awhile ago and I’m following a curriculums called one year adventure novel. I had more questions so I turned to Pinterest and I found your videos and I’m so thankful! Thank you so much for making these videos

    Love this video. I sent my first novel to a pro editor. I don't know how I would have got through without her background help.

    First drafts are always rubbish, don't give up or run yourself down because of it! I'm going through the same thing with my book, I think every writer does. A good quote I heard somewhere, "When you're going through hell...keep going!"

    • @HelenRedfern
      @HelenRedfern  5 років тому

      I’m going to remember that quote - thank you!

    This is all so aesthetically pleasing. I love notebooks and planning and writing that way but my papers get so disorganized and I lose things. I’m sure I watched it but which video shows you making your outline/acts

      Thank you so much - I’ve popped the link for the video of the outlining. I’ve been so disorganised in the past too but this has really helped me!

    Love the novel idea. Good on you for all the hard work! Looks like theres a lot of dialogue in the book; Have you thought about turning it into a play for the stage?

    This is such a great video. I loved seeing your process and the aesthetic of the video is really cozy somehow 😊
    I have such struggles with my confidence too, and so I really related to your talk about writing.
    Your novel sounds really interesting too! 💖

      The confidence thing can really hold you back can’t it? I get so frustrated at times with myself! Thank you for your kind words - I was hoping it’d look cosy ❤️

    From what little I could glimpse of the story and the themes I would definately be interested in reading your novel. :-) Also I'm curious why "David was horrified" :D What's going on?

    • @HelenRedfern
      @HelenRedfern  5 років тому +1

      Oh thank you that's so lovely to hear. As to why David was horrified....I can't remember! I think it would be near the beginning where Eve doesn't think she needs to go into hospital. He doesn't cope with things too well ;)
