Hi there. I am a 70 year old professional musician/composer/producer. I have good hearing up to 2k and then both ears maintain a steady downward slope to -80 at 8k. For 4 years I have worn Oticon Opn S aids. I wear 10mm domes as the 12 mm domes were slightly occluded and tended to come off and get stuck in my ear canal. If only they made 11mm ones! These have been generally good with a very “natural” sound and I had my audiologist give me a program with the “anti-feedback” turned right down as it was causing an annoying tremolo effect on guitar single notes etc. I use this as my studio setting. My biggest issue is that the Opn S are pretty useless in a noisy social environment no matter which settings or programs I use. Speech in noise is poor and I find this socially a problem. Do you think, based on your experience, that I will notice a definite improvement if I upgrade to Oticon More HAs? I have even considered changing to Phonak due to their better connectivity and directional microphones but the consensus seems to be that the Oticon aids have the most natural sound. Your advice would be appreciated and apologies for the long comment. 😎

I think the phonak paradise would be betffer since I do have a moderate to severe hearing loss, but I will be trying the oticon more as well. I was told that it may not have enough power for my hearing loss. Are both of these good for music? What's the best hearing aid for music? Thanks in advance.

Both hearing aids have options for moderate to severe hearing loss. There are also music programs available in both. Some Oticon More styles have the option of a frequency response up to 10,000 Hz which can improve music quality. Please consult with your local audiologist for guidance on what's most appropriate for your specific needs. Thank you for watching and for commenting!

What about the speech clarity and sound quality? I think they are the most important aspects of hearing aids.

Both offer excellent sound quality and can be adjusted to provide improved speech clarity. The other areas of comparison are likely the deciding factor when considering different hearing aids. Thanks for watching!

I am using my aids for music. What is the Oticon Music program all about? The Phonaks have Frequency adjustments starting with model 30's with 8 and the 50's go to 12! What about Oticon models?

The Oticon MyMusic program adjusts the settings to improve music listening. Oticon also has a similar number of frequency adjustments, however an extended frequency range is more important for music. Ok I watched the video and understand. I am noticing I need the app on my Phonak Paradise 50 to get the high frequency's sounding good to me. I noticed a G50 rating at +7db on 6.7K. It drops to +2 db when volume is rated at G65. So I go to the app and raise the treble untill I like the sound! Can that be saved to my Music program that my Audiologist set up in my aids? Because I wonder if the app can be unstable while using it listening to my stereo! I also use the Phonak remote that uses Bluetooth! Prefer to use over the app.

Your audiologist can adjust the music program according to your preference and hearing test results. Whatever setting is saved into the hearing aid will be the new baseline setting. Thank you for the comment and for watching!
