    So you guys explained something in five minutes that I've seen others take twenty minutes to do. Quick, to the point, informative. As a comic(not necessarily manga) artist I found this video, and channel to be brimming with helpful and amazing tips. Much love, totally subbed. Keep up the great work.

    I’m working on a comic visually inspired by manga, so seeing the actual process from the perspective of mangaka as opposed to just western comic artists is a great way to diversify what I can make

    I know that anything can be learned, but dang I'm starting to have such admiration for you comic artists. If drawing doesn't take enough time to master, picking a proper comic grid takes pure intuition (which I don't have, yet). Its crazy how they intuitively pick grids that fit just right and make total sense.

    Hi, a little lengthy of a comment but, I've been searching for a vid like this, finally found a channel that explains things more clearly than bigger channels who only partially explain, however, I have 3 things that still puzzle me as I'm not the most keen at the layout concept:
    A) I noticed you mention spreads and up to 6 or 8 panels per page usually. But if I'm drawing a spread, does that mean I turn the page horizontally? as opposed to other pages whose panels come down vertically.
    B) are there specific shapes that all mangaka are expected to work with for legitimacy? I'm not sure if that's a rule or if I'm simply taking it too strictly, but someone such as myself whose drawing style is detailed and influenced by tite kubo, author of Bleach, tends to struggle to get the nitty gritty aspects down accurately
    C) lastly I'm curious if some of these things are guidelines , or if there are any actual strict rules all mangaka follow, however I want to make sure I'm not overstepping any boundaries, I'm good at the drawings and story pathing etc, but I struggle with the concept of layouts here and there, if you guys could take the time to clarify I'd greatly appreciate it.

      Hi Kylo! Welcome to SILENT MANGA AUDITION® Community 😁 We hope you enjoy our channel!
      A) Imagine W-page spread simply as 2 pages. That's the guide for amount of information. To draw panels going across two pages, be imaginative and always look for ways to WOW the reader!

    • @smac-thesilentmangaauditio3749
      @smac-thesilentmangaauditio3749  7 років тому +7

      B) NO RULES is the only rule in Manga 😋 Anything that excites the reader is good and well valid. Now that brings us an important tip : DRAW WHAT YOU CAN CREATE IN TIME. No matter how good, manga that misses the deadline will turn down any reader. Spending too much time drawing small details is often seen as "waste of time", and a possible RISK that will make you miss a deadline!
      Oh there is second rule : NEVER MISS A DEADLINE. Everything else is up to the creator 😁

    • @smac-thesilentmangaauditio3749
      @smac-thesilentmangaauditio3749  7 років тому +7

      C) Everything we provide is just a guideline. In fact we have strict orders from Hojo sensei, to NEVER present anything as "the right way". Creating manga is a journey of the creator to find his/her own ways to convey messages, make readers FEEL a story. Saying that, we know it helps to have a firm guideline to start from 😁. We are determined to bring you REAL PROFESSIONAL TIPS straight from the horse's mouth!
      is there anything specific you need clarifying? Please just ask 😋!
