This gives me an idea for a challenging "true ending" level: you have to 1-shot after the checkpoint, but if you die, checkpoint instantly triggers flagpole, and you fail to achieve true ending.
Wasn't there a level like that which gave you a key at the start so if you died past the checkpoint you respawned without it. (I've not played mario maker so I'm not sure if it still works)

I used to watch Dave play troll levels and I would think "how does he not see this or that" so being that I've never played SMM1 and got SMM2 soon after release I started playing some levels off UA-cam and one day decided to play the level before watching Dave play it.... never finished it.. so hats off to yall streamers who beat hard levels live and still maintain an audience (love ya dave, you cool as frig brosky)

Incidentally, it is a long one. (something about revising the level)" Also, I just learned out to say "troll level" in Japanese, but a direct translation is "deceiving course", which is not inaccurate.
I'm so mad I missed the preorder time, looking at that plushie makes me cry 😭 At least watching this video made my mood a little bit better, I can literally hear "Ballbusters!" playing in my head 😂

imagine that level coming up during an Expert Death = Skip challenge and Dave dying after the checkpoint.
I think that it would be better of making it that the 1 shot part is harder than the checkpoint-death part, but it gives a better reward
