Here's what his injuries are, which are from his YT page, "BROKEN PELVIS IN 10 SPOTS, DISLOCATED SPINE FROM PELVIS, SHATTERED LEFT FOOT" Sucks this happened, but I bet he was operating WELL OVER the speed limit. Some of his videos show him operating as much as 140+mph on country roads. Don't wish harm on the guy, but it's dumb what he did.

Well put. Facts don't care about anyone's ego or feelings. The asphalt and concrete don't either regardless of the speed and especially the faster one chooses to go and end up crashing. It's simple. keep the damn speeding ON THE RACE TRACK...where it belongs and that is a far safer and more controlled environment to speed involving.

First clip: notices distance closing in good time, covers (but doesn't apply) front brake, releases front brake, then stomps rear brake. Very typical car driving reflexes. Practise some progressive front/rear braking drills in the car park. Really helps get you into a riding mindset and becomes innate after a while and prevents these type of crashes. So many vids on here of people smashing the front and/or rear brake.
I know quite a few people that have rode for 20-30 years. Not a single one practices threshold braking. Ever. I do at a bare minimum once a month usually twice. Why wouldn't you? It takes all of 2 minutes to pull in an empty parking lot and stop a couple times. Even though I manage to get out at least one ride a month in winter I still almost always end up locking the rear brake up a tiny bit my first practice emergency brake of spring and I'm someone who makes a point of practicing it. Only way to execute when it matters is to make it force of habit. I can't for the life of me wrap my head around why anyone wouldn't want to. Again, especially when it takes near zero time and effort.
And the price for good riding goes to ZJ_Rides. No Rev Bombing. No honking the horn. No hand gestures to the stupid cager. Just swerve around the danger and go on with your day. Hope all of you act like this when the moment comes.

Many of these videos show excessive speed for the conditions or the surroundings ( lane splitting, built up areas etc) and lack of practice braking and swerving. The 3 wheeler segment had the cammer up to 57 mph in built up area with traffic lights every close intersection
It was kinda sharp, especially if the guy went in there at speed. (Most of the people featured in these compilations aren't skilled riders so sharp is relative.)

It's always a mistake to lay the bike down. Sliding slows you down much less than braking, leading to a harder impact compared to if the bike had stayed up.
Wtf... Right at the start of this video you can see the person let go of the throttle AND front brake completely... then they smashed the rear brake until they skidded and dropped hard. The 3 wheel crash....the guy filming seems to express little regard for the stTus of the riders. I was in the fire dept and we were trained not to get excited or even shout out the condition of the victim. They can often hear you.

Once he saw the bike, he stopped, which is what most people are going to do if they see the bike coming at them. So many of these riders outride their sight of vision or their braking ability. It is very easy to go fast on a sport bike but controlled and quick braking takes practice, which many of these riders don't seem to understand. Much better to learn it in a parking lot under your own conditions than out on the road with a real vehicle to hit. I just don't understand it.

Small things can make you crash, stuff that you never look for in a car because they don't matter. ABS might save you, but it makes you a weaker rider. Learn what you're looking at and always ride for the worst case scenario.

@@alexanderjanke1538 he means the engine slows the bike down a lot when you let off the throttle, to not use that to your advantage is silly. If I'm going 80mph and let off the throttle I drop to 60mph in a matter of seconds, the brakes can do that too, but too much load, accidentally too much pressure, and you've lost traction. I'm a huge proponent of downshifting / engine braking while emergency stopping, I've done some crazy tight shit on a bike without ABS. It's not for beginners, but at least getting in the habit of keeping the clutch out until you are actually coming to a complete stop should be practiced. I've seen people argue that it's too much for a beginner to think about while E-braking, but the bike will lug very noticably before it will ever stall out, and that's your cue to grab that clutch and ease to that full stop.

0:42 to 0:50. No...IMPROPER front braking on wet corners can end that way. Anytime be it wet or dry pavement but especially more often on wet roads.....that you just grab your front brake hard and instantly 100% like that...while it's leaning even the slightest amount ( say through a turn) without anything from the rear brake..FIRST...means you're asking TOO MUCH of the bike as the tires don't have enough time to grip the road properly and you WILL cause them to lock up. Locking up the front is exactly what happened here. Locking up the rear sometimes isn't as bad and recoverable without a crash. Start with the rear brake but DON'T stomp on it..firm ...reasonably fast pressure ( causing the front end of the bike to dive some), then immediately grab ( not Bruce Lee or pro boxer jab/grab) the front brake with consistently climbing pressure within 2 seconds...NOT .02 seconds as you're ( not too slowly but not immediately) medium speed releasing the rear brake to prevent the rear from possibly locking up. Motojitsu You're welcome. Shut up and practice in a PARKING LOT...first...with sub 30 mph speeds. baby step into it to learn your limits as well as your bike's braking limits with full gear on and no other vehicles around.

......A strong front brake and twist grip throttles keep these channels in good videos. If I had to travel on a street bike the first things I'd do is....replace the twist grip with a thumb throttle, replace the horn with something "devastating".....and back off the front brake to the point that it couldn't lock up.
Yet millions ride motorcycles everyday without incident on unadapted bikes. The incidents in these videos are usually errors in judgment rather than problems with the control design.
I had to take the MSF course to get my license. When I watch these videos I can pretty much pick out 3-5 principles they taught in the course that the riders completely ignore that had they applied they never would have gotten into trouble. The bike ain't the problem.
These videos demonstrate a lack of skill on these riders part. The design of modern motorcycles is impeccable. Develop the skills and you won't have to do those asinine modifications to a motorcycle. The front brake provides the majority of the stopping power, they are meant to be strong and have to be. With proper progressive braking you wont have any issues with the front brake. Reduce the braking force of the front brake and you will end up in one of these videos. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a twist throttle. The only thing you suggested that makes sense is a better horn, and they do make good aftermarket ones.
3 thousand harleys set a record riding together........ but sport bikes crash almost every group ride. I'll NEVER ride in a sport bike group. EVER. But I have ridden in a group of harleys.....no problems at all. How does that work ?? Why so different ??
Probably a mentality thing and experience thing. I’m 21 and ride a Suzuki V-Strom. Next to that I’m a driving instructor for the cat. B license (car) in Europe (Netherlands). The thing I see is that unexperienced people ride bikes way above their skill level because the bikes themselves are high-power, etc, etc. Then they think they can do the same as Rossi or whoever. It’s also because they usually go too fast for their own good. I remember when I got my A1 license (limited to 125cc 15hp bikes) I always was speeding because of the lack of power. But riding an underpowered bike did help me make the transition to a bigger bike and it helped me looking more in front of me. A lot of these guys either ride too little, or ride like they own the place.
Why so different? Because Harley's have been turning petrol into noise without any note worthy performance for 119 years now. That probably plays a big role.

I mean most bikes these days have a anti hopping clutch so its no problem to brake and pull the clutch at the same time

It’s also because they usually go too fast for their own good. I remember when I got my A1 license (limited to 125cc 15hp bikes) I always was speeding because of the lack of power. But riding an underpowered bike did help me make the transition to a bigger bike and it helped me looking more in front of me. A lot of these guys either ride too little, or ride like they own the place.
Why so different? Because Harley's have been turning petrol into noise without any note worthy performance for 119 years now. That probably plays a big role.
@@mrrageguy7413 From what I see, I agree with you. I ride sport bike, but hate riding in a group. Too many riders feel like they have to show off. I'd go so far as to say I'm a boring rider. It's probably why I've never been in a road accident on a bike in 35 years.
