Winter Cottage Garden - Organising and Sowing Seeds & Garden Tour

- Welcome back to our cottage garden. It's been a frosty few weeks so we haven't done a huge amount outside. I have started pruning our apple trees and tidying things up a bit. Today I thought I'd show you my seed process for the start of the year. I'm starting with sowing my aubergine and cup and saucer plants. I won't sow anything else for another couple of weeks as I don't want too many leggy seedlings. Here is a little look into the process and how we start seedlings indoors. Have you started growing anything yet?

From Pensacola, FL I love your channel. I especially love your dog, Happy. I've been rescuing and taking in homeless dogs for over 50 years. I named every new one Happy. So I've had many Happys in my life and they have brought me so much love and joy. I look forward to new videos from you. Peace.
Good advice concerning patience in seed sowing! Ty! 💚🌱💚
I find that a bit of duck tape holds cracked shabby seed trays together nicely 👍
Good point about using food packaging as labels, thank you so much. Love your garden:)
My hellebore here in NW Wales have just started flowering which is very exciting. I like to sow seeds and garden in general in line with the phases of the moon which I really enjoy
Wonderful you are so organised, can't wait for your next vlog.☕️🔆
I love the way you organised your seeds, I always get completely overwhelmed by the thought of wanting to grow multiple things and then decide not grow anything at all. Your system looks like a wonderful plan!
You have such a dreamy garden! Super inspiring for us beginner gardeners.
I like the idea of keeping seeds in drawers month by month. Thank you, a great tip.
Nice video my friend!
Once again, preciously inspiring. Thank you~~
Wonderful to see your seed sewing process lovely! The garden is so beautiful in the frost too. Ice skating was definitely a January highlight 🥰🤍⛸️
Just found your channel. Love it. We used to live in North East Somerset in an old cottage in one of the Somerset mining villages. Beautiful area with amazing views!
Hi 🤗 recently found your channel and loving it, keep up the good work it’s really appreciated. Just an observation, having grown veg for many years I have found that using previous years seed (even if unopened) seems to give a higher rate of germination failure, it would be interesting if you start to feel that too. I was always careful to keep seed dry and in airtight containers over the winter but didn’t seem to make any difference. So what I do is use new seed at start of season and when that run out for successive planting I’d use the old so that at least germination was good to start with. I have noticed that my own saved seeds do seem to last for several years though, does make me wonder if these seed companies can do something so that seeds have a shelf life 🤔
I use wooden lolly sticks for my plant labels, they do deteriorate, but can go on the compost heap at the end of the season
What a lovely video love your garden .
I love your garden shed! Mine looks just as yours, lots of joyous chaos!!❤️
A lovely video. I can’t wait for spring 😁💚🌷
Your garden is so beautiful! I love the wattled fence. It makes me want to get out (when the snow is gone!) to clean up my herb garden.
I started adding estimated germination dates to my seedling labels as well this year - so helpful since I inevitably forget when I sowed them.
I use a photo storage case it has 14 containers in a briefcase and it’s perfect for seeds. My mom has 4 of them
Hi!!! I wonder where the ducks are now in the winter🦢🦢🦆🦆
I made the classic mistake of sowing whole packets of seeds; hopefully I have learned my lesson for next season as I hate discarding excess. 🤞
👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻🌼
❤
Where did you get your grow lights from?
What are cup and saucer plants? Thx
Hi! Where did you get the brown cargo pants??
Do you have any videos that actually show more of the interior of your cottage that's equally as intriguing to us English country fanatics
She was attacked by trolls because of her showing her cottage! So for her own peace of mind and mental health she focuses on showing her garden more which will be beautiful once the warmer weather settles in. So many more garden videos ahead hopefully because when her garden is in full bloom it reminds you of the movie The Secret Garden😌
Do you use gloves when working with hellebore?
🤍🤍🤍
