Boox GO 10.3 is still the king. No frontlight needed, good battery life, super precise handwriting. And it looks so good with the paperish-white color around the paperish-white screen, so I don't even miss having colors to the pens!
I also have both the Air3 C and Air4 C at the moment, and I've tweaked every possible setting on the Air3 C. I can confirm that the color contrast is notably better on the Air4 C, even under direct sunlight.
If you're happy with the 3C, just stick with it. I really liked my 3C, and I love the 4C. The main thing I was looking for was just a bit more contrast/pop to the colors, and that's exactly what I got. As a side bonus, the front light is better. It seems to get even brighter, and it doesn't have the slight shadow along the left side that my 3C has.
Hello, looking to buy a e-ink tablet here. My main concern is the android updates, as i heard the boox has no plans on updating their devices with android updates, leaving some apps unusable after a few years. Is it actually worth getting this tablet long term?? Thanks
Be ware... Try before you buy because boox has the worst return policy I have ever experienced. Slow customer service responses, bad instructions, threatening to charge you for any slight descrepancies in the return process. And then they say it might take 6 weeks to process a refund... Not only am I being charged at least $85 to return the device but they may determine upon receiving my return that it has "damage" and charge me even more to restock it. The devices aren't for everyone. I would definitely evaluate your use case and budget thoroughly before purchasing.
LOL imagine those poor people that just bought an Air 3C thinking to have the latest Air model for a while... Boox is the king of trolling their own customer with disposable devices... When you think they finally settle on a device and start to work on updating the software and make it better, here it comes a new device few months later that just makes your previous (expensive) purchase already obsolete. And yes, you can continue to use the old device of course; but you can tell that after few years they totally disregard their devices in terms of software updates, as they are running on different Android versions, and now they run on different UI too, so that makes everything even harder.
that's one question i had, since the devices dont have android updates, after like 1 year newer apps may not function properly on outdated Android versions, limiting your access to new features and services. why would they not have the function to update the android version?? also, if i dont update my android version, will my device still be usable 7 years down the road?
@@MightGuySevereLeafHurricane You cannot update android because that is locked to the hardware. To get new android you need updated drivers and none of these companies wants to spend time doing that. So you end up with a device that is left behind and the best you get it security updates from google. The reason why Boox get new devices in part is because using new hardware they get the ability to get new builds of android for free, without invest any effort. You can use your android device even after 20 years for what matter; the issue is that newer apps won't work, which is not necessarily a big issue; but the major problem is related to safety for most part, as old versions are vulnerable to attacks and exploit, and Google stop supporting old versions of the OS after a bit. If you never go online that is also not a problem
@@fcf8269 I'm hoping to get at least 8+ years out of it. Hopefully 8 years from now Google docs will still be supported by android 13 version (air 4c).
RMPP colour is better when the front light is off. However Other reviews show the 4C having better colour image than the RMPP when the front lights are on.

Does it support OneNote?

Is it worth upgrading from the 3C if you just bought it one month ago ? It doesn’t look like the change is dramatic enough for me to upgrade so soon

24:00 That reassembling the pens was really intense and mesmerizing! 😅
Hi great review here, is it possible to install and use the ChatGPT and Claude App on the Note Air 4C? Appreciated
Thank you. Yes, both should work just fine.

Based on past history the Android version that it ships with is what it will stay at.
@BrandonKBoswell thank you
@@BrandonKBoswellbut still they update the tablet with security updates don’t they?

Maybe since the blacks are 300 ppi. By reducing its saturation so that it doesn’t overpower the color since color is only 150ppi

Can one create a 1.5 inch calligraphy Nib customizable on the note4 c ??

can you connect it via ethernet?
There’s no I/O for it but perhaps a USB-C hub with Ethernet might work. I unfortunately don’t have one of those here.
The display looks pretty dim particularly for low lighting environment.

Thanks for letting me know, I can drop the bitrate.
