This song will always remind me of my father, who died in 2006 right around when the song came out. He was a complicated person and I had a complicated relationship with him. The vibe and lyrics of this song helped me lay him to rest, both literally and figuratively, and move on with my life. Thank you, Band of Horses.
My dad died 2 years ago a complicated man too. I feel ya trojanpony
There is something about this band that just grips me. So haunting.
I think it's haunting that a band would dedicate a song to funeral music.
@@genx3926 ummm, thats not the meaning of the song. There are interviews of the band explaining the meaning behind it. It is not for a funeral. Music sometimes speaks in metaphors….
Band of Horses are an amazing band. Definitely in my top ten. Keep it up Gentlemen.🤜😃🤛
This is the best band going. No one can go straight acoustic like they can. They even shyd away from this song but now, have even done it. So good
I wouldn’t say all that lol as good as the song is there off beat acoustic…I’ve seen better nirvana acoustics so idk what your talking about
Always thinking of my son when this plays.
So sorry. Can't imagine how hard that is. 🫂
This song should rock.
Just amazing, that’s all
wow...amazing performance- your capture of the song is breathtaking. thank you.

Wow
222 thanks.
Está canción es hermoso
Great band, great song, but the stand up bass just doesnt work here
Years late, but it needed a cello if they were going to go that route. That way it wouldnt be the only bowed instrument in a group of plucked instruments. That imbalance is probably what gives you the mismatchy uncomfortables. Nice bass haha
@@miguelmarquez4192 totally agree with you! If anything, he should have just used a bass guitar for the runs and a cello for the backing melodies. I personally don’t think they needed 3 acoustic guitars in this and have one of the guitarist pick up the bass on this one
Disagree. It absolutely does. They wrote this song with heavy orchestral elements. To do it acoustically without any would be a disservice to it's original conceptual design. They keep it subtle too, till the end and it was perfectly blended to close this.
