    Well that was amazing! I know it was sped up, but you’re still very fast and very skilled! I liked that you got right to it, no talking and explaining. Too many videos lose me right away with all the unnecessary yip-yap; takes them too long to get to the point! Thank you so much, wonderful job!! this video was very helpful!!

      I talk too much if I'm honest, but a little camera shy, hence the concentration face, it's easier for me to show rather than explain haha

      @@theanimalspa you have inspired me to clip my girl! I will be referring back to your video when I do. I noticed that you clip the legs by hand rather than with the clippers. Glad I learned that! Thanks!

      Yes, I don’t think she took off the rough edges enough. And the coat could have been blown out better. The curls gave it a rough finish. I just don’t think it’s Asian fusion. It looks like a rounded pet trim, nicely executed, but not the bubble soft doll finish that the Asian Fusion is known for having.

    Wow you're fast, and good! Could you please tell us home groomers
    your blade sizes? Thanks!

    • @theanimalspa
      @theanimalspa  2 роки тому +4

      I use lots of different sizes depending on how long you want the length. A lot of customers like the short length of a 7f, which I use for any shave offs I do. I prefer the length of a 4f or 3f on the body for a more Teddy look and scissor the legs. My blades are mostly alpha wide blades, I mostly use, 3f, 4fw, 5fw, 7fw, 10f and I use a 30fw for underneath my wide comb attachments, 30 is a surgical blade, so I don't ever use that for general clipping, 10f is used for hygiene areas, unless the dog I sensitive to short blades, then we use a 7 or 5.
      Mt clippers are heinegers, blade types that fit are andis, heineger, oster and alpha blades

    Can you please link your video on calming dogs before grooming? I tried to find it and I can’t. I’ve learned so much from you! I’m a home groomer, well, I’ve done it one time but I need to “sharpen” my skills 😊

    • @theanimalspa
      @theanimalspa  2 роки тому

      That's really kind of you to say, it's not a calming tip specific video, I can look into showing how to calm aggressive dogs as I tend to have a lot of dogs that were banned from previous salons on my books. Some have come such a long way, even super happy to come in to see me and was their tail throughout. If there is anything you would like to know, I am happy to answer or even pop a video up as an example. Hope you are well Susan

    Scissors recommendations for at home grooming?

    • @theanimalspa
      @theanimalspa  2 роки тому

      Hi Gidget, it depends what for, cost type and use etc. But if you are just wanting a cheap robust scissor, the Roseline brand is a really good starting scissor, not as expensive as the rest either. You can usually purchase a set, curves, straights and thinners. That would be good enough for a home groom. Hope that helps lovely.

    I think you did a good job, but I don’t think that’s Asian Fusion. It’s a pretty head, but it’s just rounded, no major style and not smooth enough to be Asian Fusion. The legs aren’t beveled and body isn’t short enough to be considered Asian Fusion. Cute groom for a pet cut though.
