I always find it funny how in the USA it's called "Hard" Cider, which makes it sound either like it's it's difficult to eat like hard candy, or in Scottish parlance that it'll beat you up for looking at it. Just writing this as someone in England (the world's largest producer and consumer of "hard" cider) if you want to experiment try single variety apple juices for your fermentation. The most common ones here are either Dabnitt or Chisel Jersey juice, although my personal preference is Yarlington Mill Apple Juice - only saying this as you'd be amazed at the difference you can get between different apples.
Either way, Great Video, hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

I know right?! I don't know where that came from, "Hard" liquor and "Soft" drinks. As if making it sound "tough" will help it sell better. That's American marketing for you. During the Christmas season we have what we call hot apple cider which is just apple cider or "apple juice" with spices like cinnamon, allspice berries and citrus peels add, then heated over a stove. Funny how the same things can have so many different names. Then there's "Scrumpy". What's that all about?
My wife and I just recently started traveling abroad and we found that in Germany they call it Apfelwein or Apple Wine, and in New Zealand they have "Hazy Apple Cider". Funny.
Thank you for your comments! I really appreciate it. As you probably surmised, I'm kinda new at this whole YT thing. I especially appreciate you tuning in on the "brewing" side of my channel. Many folks are leaning towards the Pellet Smoking side of the house.
      Prost!

@@SmokinNDrinkin Oh we have a similar thing here, just generally it's referred to as "Mulled" Cider (bit like how you get Mulled Wine around the festive period - to be honest there probably was some historic reason for it, I think nowadays we just want warm booze to keep us warm mid-winter). Scrumpy though I do know the reason for the name - basically to "Scrump" meant stealing apples from an orchard if you go back far enough in English History, so "Scrumpy" was the cider they made from stolen apples. Generally nowadays it just refers to a more rustic and unfiltered cider that often has fermentation sediment or even bits of apple pulp in the bottle/barrel.
Oh there's a lot of cider out there, it's pretty common in Northern France and Spain as well - think the most unique place I've ever seen it was in Vietnam, where I found "Saigon Cider", which comes in Apple, Apple & Ginger and Apple & Chilli varieties - I did actually look it up and sadly it's not fully Vietnamese as it's made by an English lady living in the country who imports the apples from Australia & New Zealand - XD
I guessed about this being a relatively new channel based on the subscriber level, so wanted to leave a Like and a Comment as apparently that helps boost the video up in UA-cam's algorithm. That said I'm not surprised most lean into the smoking side of things - BBQ and Smoking are two things every other Brit I've met who's been to the USA raves about being so much better over there.
